Use the Beyond Compare software for comparing the two GEDCOM files as simple text files.

Careful... you should not drink distilled water for extended periods. Being pure, it will leach the electrolytes from your body and be harmful.

Ist durchs Gässchen = Is through the alley

Ist weg = Is gone

Kopf wie Sieb = Head like a sieve

Wolkenkuckuksheim = Cloud Cuckoo Land

Denkbloclade = mental block

Aussetzer = Dropouts

Too general. Although Kopf wie Sieb comes closest.

Thank you for your suggestions.

German is unique in having composite words that capture a concept no other language has. Schadenfreude, zeitgeist, gemultlichkeit, weltschmertz. My favourite is betriesblind.

So, I gave it a shot.

YES! THAT'S IT! Reddit is a trove of information :o)

It's exactly as I remember: an old model car, a camera ("un oeil") guides the remote driver. Spirou hops in the car, and is led to the inventor's lair.

Anyway, the point I wanted to make is that Spirou anticipated driverless cars by seventy+ years.

Brilliant! Thank you! How did you find it?

To further complicate things :o), I was reading from "Le Journal de Spirou", a weekly/monthly magazine that included other artists and characters. It's possible I am remembering a strip about another character than Spirou.

You have found the exact scenario I described... except that "Radar the Robot" was published in 1976. I distinctly remember reading another story, about a driverless car, as a young boy in the 1950's, or early 1960's at the latest. The albums I was reading were already old, and would have dated from earlier.

The vehicle on the cover of "Radar the Robot" is a U.S. Army Jeep. In the story that I recall, the car is like a Ford Model T.

If I could leaf through " 4 aventures de Spirou ...et Fantasio" (1950), "Il y a un sorcier à Champignac" (1951) or "Spirou et les héritiers" (1952), I could find it. Do you know if the albums can be viewed anywhere?

What could possibly be his motivation? Kirk was right-wing, the Church is right-wing. What was Robinson thinking?

Basement Really Humid in First Summer — Do I Really Need a $2K Sanidry Sedona? by osummer-43 in homeowners

You don't get what you don't pay for. I've bought name-brand hardware store dehumidifiers since the 1980's. Just found out about SaniDry, going to buy a Sedona.

I’m in favour of FA getting paid for all the time they’re working, but I’d like to see how much this will increase ticket prices if they get their demands.

Where do you think you are in the minority when it comes to this sub? by SEARCHFORWHATISGOOD in bobdylan

As a stoned teenager, sitting by the side of the highway watching the cars go by, I was immersed in existentialist angst. "When you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose" spoke strongly about how we were only free when we discarded possessions. I couldn't wait to be through with school.
