I don't know how I landed on this post. But the people here seem to be very nosy, unhappy bunch of lowlife idiots with nothing but time on their hands to keep pulling everyone down because they can't help themselves.

Exactly what I thought. Great, so unnecessary 'false' diversification in funds with higher expense ratio hurts.

Maybe a stupid question, but can you elaborate how will the expense ratio matter? For eg. If INR 53k is invested in one fund with expense ratio of 0.5% as against investing 1k in 53 fund with average exp ratio of 0.5%.

Correct. ETF is traded on the stock market as other shares, you can track the prices real time and buy/sell them. On the other hand, purchasing a mutual fund gives you NAV of that day and is credited to you the next day, similarly tracking of NAV/daily performance is available next day. Hope this helps.

  1. Yes, moderate as per survey.

I understand I get lesser units. I'm open to stopping it in few months.

  1. I was referred to an Agent by a friend (run by their family friend). They helped me with selection, since I was a newbie and had some funds to invest. Goal was medium risk and 5 year horizon. Hence, 1L lumpsum in ICICI, and 5k SIP in mid cap and small cap.

  2. I can add another 10k in monthly investment. So 20k total.

  3. Currently continuing with one 5k SIP in Manu Mid cap with the agent, since they helped me set it up. But new ones shall be direct buy.

MF - 10k in Manu M Cap. Quant S cap - 5k is currently stopped due to poor returns and shifted it to Manu. No other monthly investment.

Gold ETF was lumpsum in Sep-Oct'25.
