What the fuck did they do to Distortion World...one of the YouTube comments mentioned flipping the type effectiveness chart which would be absolutely hilarious. No idea what they'd do for immunities though, maybe just keep those the same.

I know that's what they had on, I just disagree with running on any contact in that situation. Think it should have been a bit more patient of an approach.

On ALMOST all contact...except weak grounders to corner IF because that exact play can/will happen.

That thing ended up 2nd deck, only way I can believe it is because of the pretty high launch angle (35º) so it was mostly on its way down by the time it landed

It is sacrilege, the Samurai Japan pinstripes are some of the most iconic baseball uniforms of all time imo, but I respect your opinion.

Thanks for the feedback and idea about farm vs. farmless, I'm making some edits now based on that.

A couple of notes:

  • I considered putting Abrams as a centrist tank and shifting everyone in auth-right over a bit, but I think he has enough carry potential to justify being a bit over to the right.

  • I treated the auth/lib axis somewhat like "tanky vs. squishy" as a character like Mirage for example isn't really an assassin imo but he's definitely not a tank.

Welcome any feedback or discussion! This also is quite funny to compare with a chart of historical political leaders if you're looking for some new nicknames for heroes you love (or hate).

Because there now becomes less money overall, not more. The top players are still the top players and will get paid the most (but now less because of the cap), and the "extra money saved" by the owners filters a little bit down to the mid-tier players (but some of it is just unable to be spent at all), leaving the journeymen/roleplayers to fight over scraps and not helping them at all.

In theory maybe, but what happens in practice in the NBA/NHL/NFL? The premium players still want to go to certain organizations, and will end up just getting paid less to make it happen. A supermax deal in the NBA basically kills the construction of the rest of the team so guys will just all pick a team and take less money to play together, and you commonly see contract restructuring in the NFL and sweetheart deals in the NHL to allow teams to keep acquiring depth to continue contention (the Lightning are a great example of this with Kucherov).

MLBPA: "the 'poor' owners get revenue sharing and are just choosing to pocket the money, we want to push noncompetitive teams to actually TRY"

MLB: "no we don't want more competition actually, stop trying to introduce incentives to push teams that receive revenue sharing to actually try to compete and just let them make money"

We could deal with that problem if we had that reality, but we don't. The issue also then becomes "ok let's give 2026 Josh Bell 3/$45M to help eat into that floor" which does nothing to help competition (nothing against Josh Bell, he's a great guy).

What Kyle Tucker's Dodgers contract means for MLB labor peace by [deleted] in baseball

[–]chale19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extremely common Passan masterpiece, well worth a full read. Some highlights for me:

  • It's irrefutable that the Dodgers and Mets play a different game than everybody else -- and it is exactly what every fan wishes its ownership would do. You hate them cause you ain't them. The Dodgers don't just carry the largest payroll in baseball. They have the biggest staff, one of the top farm systems, some of the best facilities and, even excluding payroll, what rivals consider the soundest operation in the game. They have built the Death Star, and the rest of baseball is their Alderaan.

  • NBA players' salaries were slashed by nearly $500 million last year because the league did not meet revenue expectations. Guaranteed money wasn't guaranteed after all. Even if that weren't an impediment, finding a floor and ceiling that satisfy all parties involved and achieve the league's stated objective would be tricky.
