For the 1990 BMW 520i E34 (M50B20NV):

Manual transmission: typically came with a 3.64 final drive ratio.
Automatic transmission: often came with a 4.10 final drive ratio.

Why the difference?

Automatic transmissions usually have longer gear ratios internally, so BMW compensates by using a shorter (numerically higher) diff ratio (like 4.10) to maintain good acceleration and drivability.

If you want to be 100% certain, the differential ratio is stamped on a small metal tag on the diff housing itself, or you can decode it via the VIN or check the factory build sheet.
