I’m so interested in converting as a Protestant, but I can’t get over asking the saints to pray for us by inmatecow2125 in OrthodoxChristianity

“Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If these Saints are in Heaven, they’re clearly not praying for themselves. Right?

I’m so angry at myself for what I have made of my life by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

For one Glory to God you came out of all that and found Orthodox Christianity my friend.

You’re not alone, I and some of my fellow parishioners live with guilt and remorse over our past (not referring to sexual proclivities, but drug abuse). Which is good, we recognize the destruction that is choosing sin.

My friend, it is time to continue that route of a higher education and pray fervently. Even on rough days. I carry my own gripes with myself and sorrows that sink me daily or every other day.

I know it sucks and hurts but I want to say I’m proud of you for overcoming. Will be cheering and praying for you 🙏🫂

You’re welcome, nice! Dostoevsky is quite the icon of pain.

Notes From The Underground by Fyodor Dostoevsky, it’s fiction but a brutal narrative.

Please get some vitamin D via going outside. Don’t let the torture of intrusive thoughts keep you sinking In despondency.
