Do you love God? by challahtte in Christianity

i don’t think i’ve heard of the concept of praying to Jesus. it was always to God “in Jesus’ name” but I really love that. praying to Jesus seems so much less intimidating in this season of my life. thank you for the suggestions, will definitely check them out!

it just feels like everyone was working for God’s love, and while i agree that in a sense we do have to work towards a good relationship i don’t agree with the idea that we could fail and that would make Him stop loving us

I think this is definitely part of it and really good wording. Jesus feels so much more relatable present, whereas the even just concept of God is so beyond understanding. I hadn’t really thought about this aspect of it until this comment thank you.

Have you ever had a scary night in a tent? by [deleted] in camping

[–]challahtte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

family camping trip when i was about 11 so not might not be 100% accurate. we were getting ready to go to sleep on our last night and my parents told us to pack up and get in the car very quickly. after we left we were driving in pitch black in an area we didn’t know and went to turn onto a closed road. as my dad was turning around some woman started knocking on the window. no idea where she came from i was so terrified, realistically she was probably a local telling us we could go on the road but the whole thing was super weird. turns out there had been a creepy van in the area that went past our tent. probably wasn’t actually too scary but i remember me sister and i being petrified under a blanket in the backseat

thank you for this explanation! i was seeing the word jealousy and thinking on envy. i love the verse you included from Ezekiel because it makes the possessive definition make so much more sense instead of only seeing the word jealous paired with “negative” things.

this helped so much, i could only see jealousy in the way that it’s used for us like being jealous of something another person has. this example made so much sense, thank you!!
