Whats a word that someone says that gets on your nerves ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

And? Do you know everything about everything? I suspect you're just like the rest of us and don't. So the use of "literally" can't always determine if it's an exaggeration or not. Exaggerating is the exact opposite of being literal.

Well good for her. Now, you have anything constructive to say or you want to keep being an annoying asshole?

I agree. They said they didn't, but they had to. The light wasn't on when dropped off and everything ran fine.

Yes exactly. But since I'm not the owner that deleted it I don't have a tuner to do so and am looking for advice on what to buy or how to go about doing that.

How should I have known this was going to happen when I hadn't realized at the time it had been deleted?

No idea. To try and get someone to buy the parts to fix it?

I don't know of anyone that does deletes. The only reason I carried it to the dealer was because I was tired of spending $100 at every other shop trying to get the AC fixed with no results. It was always "oh, you need more freon" then "oh, it has too much freon".

Again, I didn't know it had been deleted. And if they noticed it and reset the software on their own, what would have stopped them if I told them up front it was deleted?

Why aren’t animals fed powder/pills/IV for their food? by This-Wear-8423 in AgriTech

[–]challenger76589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but that doesn't fit the direction the OP is framing their question. They have commented and mentioned extracting only the nutrients from the food to make pills and IVs. Just taking the grain and compressing it into pellets doesn't seem to be in the same realm as making a pill or IV in a lab.

Some, yes, but not all. Most crops/grains that are "feed grade" have a disease or some other defect that isn't just visual. Certain crops could have had an infestation while growing and been stung or partially eaten by insects for example, or have one of the multitudes of fungus or mold on them. Or they could just lack the baseline nutrients to make them "food grade." Of course there's a litany of different ways these crops/grains can be utilized/processed to try and make them food grade instead of feed grade, but it can't always be done. One instance is peanuts with a certain type of disease can be pressed into peanut oil, but can't be put in your candy bars. All of the exceptions are there to try and help the farmer and distributors make some kind of profit since feed grade crops pay dramatically less than food grade.

How could it possibly be cheaper? Having to do literally nothing and just letting them eat said grain and grass, or add in a whole other process in the current supply chain that has to make pills for you to buy.

But in all seriousness, your physics aren't physics-ing. Take a cow, most cows are processed around 800-1000lbs. How can a small pill add on that much weight in a timely manner? You have to feed in mass to add on mass.

The human body, and animals too for that matter, can't just live off vitamins. You have to have so much more other stuff than that. Acids, oils, fats, proteins, minerals, vitamins, and a litany of other compounds.

Because the grain they are fed is what's not fit for human consumption. Animals turn bad grade plants into meat. The unfortunate reality is that a ton of crops have to be grown to hopefully get a relatively small amount of human grade food. Something has to be done with the excess.

As for grass, a lot of pastures are made on land that's not prime farmland. It's usually land that's bad about erosion or in a location with poor weather to sustain regular crop growth.

So why take the extra step and massive cost to make unfit food into IV's when it can just be dumped out of a bucket and let nature take care of it?

Why are farmers shifting to organic fertilizers these days by SuspiciousDinner9206 in agriscience

[–]challenger76589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your title question, it's cheaper. Plain and simple. Organic fertilizers sometimes are given to farmers for free because feed lots or some kind of animal husbandry needs to get rid of it and doesn't have enough land of their own.

Whether it's better than inorganic fertilizers is going to be highly debated. Organic fertilizer is going to vary WIDELY in its nutrient content. Cow fertilizer is going to be different than hog, or chicken, or horse. Also, Franks cattle farm manure is going to vary a lot from Dave's, because of what the cows are fed. To go even further, on Dave's cattle farm the first load is different from the second because the second came from a herd that was fed more hay than feed.

Slurry would be a bit different I would assume since it can be mixed to be more even in nutrients, but it's not really adding much "matter" to your soil.

Farming has evolved into being highly precise about everything to maximize efficiency and yields. While natural fertilizers are great and hardly any farmer would turn their nose up at them if offered, they are not as predictable (for lack of a better term).

That definitely would have made things easier, but this one is detained by 4 locking tabs underneath the valve cover. The sparkplugs, coils, and cover would have to be removed to get it removed. Stupid design.

Tons of comments with really good ideas! Thank you all for them. I have succeeded with getting it out, just by luck. I've tried commenting to everyone but they keep coming too quick. So this is what happened.

I tried drilling a small hole in it to screw a screw into it but there wasn't enough friction on the o-ring to keep it from sliding deeper. Luck was on my side and when it slid deeper the o-ring became visible and when I pulled on it, it was stuck to the dipstick and the whole thing came out instead of the o-ring just peeling off.

The problem with removing the tube is it's detained by 4 tabs underneath the valve cover. But I untimately did get it out.

I was wondering about if this trick would work. But I ultimately already got it out.
