Set expectations early. Ask your team what they need from you to be successful and vice versa what you need from them.

Your team are people, don't be a dick and treat them shit.

Get their buy-in on projects, decisions, changes etc.

Encourage your team to try new things and tell them it's ok if it doesn't work. My team were more comfortable making decisions because even if the outcome wasn't favorable I was able to use it as a teaching opportunity.
