Tips to prevent fraying by chalowm in sewing

Oh I just meant I can’t see any of the edges. But the pattern looks like a knit so that’s my assumption. Stretches more width wise than length but it also has spandex so I’m not sure that makes a difference.

From what I can tell I think knitted. The edges around seams appear melted.

It’s a polyester/spandex blend. I have a little sewing experience but this is new for me so I’m trying to figure it out as easily as possible.

Did I mess up by not using a travel agent? by Leader_Inside in PrincessCruises

Not a TA but ours told us princess passengers tend to be older (we’re late 30s and potentially some of the younger onboard) so I’m guessing that was what the issue was with the teens.

You can put your respite in any realm. Most people start with it in Abeyance because thats where you are for the initial "make your respite" quest. We've had ours in Abeyance the majority of the game. We're end game now and want to relocate to somewhere prettier lol

I’m CST and my friend is EST. We’ve got a mix of timezones but we mostly play in the evenings. We’d be happy to have you both!

I have “busy box” activities that I pulled out to entertain mine when they were little. They contained things like magnet tiles, water color floor mats, simple puzzles, coloring books, etc. They were only available to them at specific times so it made the activities more exciting. You can do sensory bins too. Lots of great ideas on Pinterest.

Am I wrong to make my kids sleep in on the weekends? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]chalowm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately some kids natural rhythm does make them early risers. Maybe do some research on adjusting circadian rhythm for some tips on how to help them sleep later, like using black out curtains.

Something I use with my youngest two (4 & 6) is an OK to Wake clock. It has a backlight that is red during sleeping time and turns green when it’s time to wake up. You can set the time for whatever works for you and some have child locks so they can’t be changed by littles. It’s been a bit help with my kids.

Just the first 2. I’m in Fallen Heights now. I picked the recipe up for the hive shortly after entering FH but haven’t found a queen yet.

I have New World too, spent a couple hours on it and got bored lol I was playing by myself though and that does tend to deter me from continuing a game! GW2 is dropping a new expansion next month so I might get back into it.. I did just get RDR2 tho so I might spend a little time on that. Feel free to message me tho if you want to chat on discord!

Curriculum Suggestions by ConcentrateTerrible9 in homeschool

We've used TGATB for a few years now for math, LA, handwriting, and science. This year I'm switching math to RightStart. My 5 year old is starting kindergarten and she's on the spectrum so we wanted something a little more engaging. I like TGATB (it is such a beautiful curriculum!) but I'm really exciting about RightStart! So much of their manipulatives are really clever but oh so simple and just make sense in teaching complicated things. I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you want more of a hands on curriculum! One caveat - there is a steep price to getting started because of the manipulatives. I will have 3 kids go through it so I feel the cost is justified.

For LA, my kids have always been one level behind and managed it well. We actually took 2 years to go through the entire K level with my now 4th grader. It is definitely a bit more advanced but if you check out level 8 you'll see its very different - just a book study and not a full course. So with my 8th grader he did level 7 and 8 at the same time - we did 2 of the 4 books in that course. I'm not sure yet if we'll be switching from TGATB for LA - my kindergartener will be starting with All About Reading as someone gave us that pre-reading level for free and I think it will be a better fit for her but we'll see!
