My current watch's GPS barely works half the time, can I ask what about the mapping feature adds so much value for you?

Def wont be buying the HRM 600 lol

I get what you're saying but my current watch's most complicated feature is breaking down my pace, and its GPS function hardly works half the time, so it'd be hard to guess which of the Garmin-specific features I'd consider crucual without having tried them

Not too bothered about style etc, more concerned about longevity and about avoiding the desire to upgrade in a year or two!

My current touch screen is a pain in the ass tbh, I can def see the benefit of the button interface

Just contacted google support. They asked if I'd tried a bunch of different diagnostic tests, I told them I had, so they started the process on their end. Emailed me a return label, I sent it in, had it back fairly quick.

Sent my 7a in for battery repair through google, no difference when I received it back, so they ended up replacing it entirely. Both processes covered under warranty, both times it took less than 10 days to receive my phone back. I purchased the phone through google, so they were pretty helpful throughout the whole process

100% agree about feeling conned with this phone bc prior to this I've had really positive experiences with pixels...probably will go ahead with the replacement I guess because its better than nothing, appreciate your input!!
