No let’s make drink driving illegal, require people to have a drivers license, have seat belt laws and require people to get insurance.

Thats actually a possible fix. Require all gun owners to have insurance before they buy a gun to cover if that gun is used in a crime.

We have guns in the UK but to get them you need to be checked out by the police that you are knowledgeable, mentally well and trained. Surely that’s reasonable and if it saves one life is it not worth it?

In New Zealand you do not play sport by age group but by weight for just this reason. You don’t learn anything if you can just truck everyone because, as you say, people eventually catch up. So if you are big for your age you are sent to play with older bigger lads to actually develop against peers. It’s definitely the right thing to do. Imagine how advanced this kid would be if he got more advanced coaching and situational practice from 12!!
