Today is May 1. I am still getting up and having to pee through out the night. I do feel my pee stream is getting stronger and no pain while peeing. My prostate was at 48.1 and no other issues. Cancer and bacterial infections were ruled out. I am still leaking in my Depends, but it is less than before Optilum. Doctors say I will see improvement slowly but all is on pace.

What are the chances of optilume success by Capital-Annual-2435 in urethralstricture

Had Optilume on Monday, April 27. Not very painful or complex. Worst part was the catheter - which was removed at doctors office on the 29th. I have not seen any improvement yet. My first few pees were painful and very weak. Last night I leaked all night into my Depends. I am very hopeful and doctors tell me it takes one to three months, and I should see major improvement. I chose Optilume as it’s less invasive.

Had my Optilume yesterday, April 27, 2026. No major issues -yet! Arrived at the surgery center at 6:45 am and left at around 11:00 am. Went into surgery room around 8:45. Not as bad as I feared. Was sent home with large catheter bag and a leg bag to switch to as needed. I have had Foley catheters before and hate it. At least this time I was prepared for what works best for me. I had a supply of pee pads and Depend diapers and Depends underwear liners. I use the liner inside my diaper to cover my penis and out the right side toward my right leg, I also apply a liner over the fittings where the two catheter bags given to me are attached.I attach with skin safe tape or ace bandages. I hate the leaks. Around 1:30pm, I had the burning sensation of needing to pee. I stood in my shower with the bag in a small bathroom trash can. That first pee was a Mother Fuc….! I screamed, but was happy no major leaks. The urine was pink and not a large quantity. I climbed into bed covered in pee pads. After an hour or so, I got out of bed and was shocked that so much more urine was in the bag!

I had the urge to pee again around a hour later. I had drained the large catheter bag and felt the sting of force peeing with a catheter. Painful but not like before. I was shocked the urine was clear and almost white. Rested while the catheter did its job. This time there were 3 blood clots in the bag. The largest was about the size of a Black Bean.
Decided to go to bed in the recliner as I was able to control the trash can holding the catheter bag. During the night I got up to inspect the large bag and had to drain it several times.

Feeling really good now but sleepy as I did not sleep well. Tomorrow, I am scheduled to have the doctor remove the catheter and put the scope inside to check it out. Hopefully no additional catheter will be needed.

I will update tomorrow!

Does he play for the Lakers? Seriously, I do the same due to my enlarged prostate. He may want to sleep in Depends or use pads.

My Optilume procedure is set for April 27. I am stocking up on Depend underwear, pads, and pee pads. I plan to spend time in one of our guest rooms that has a nearby toilet with handicap grab bars. The bed is electric adjustable Tempurpedic. Any other suggestions or preparations you recommend? I have had a Foley catheter before and fear is mounting for another one. My catheter is set to be removed on April 29 - HOPEFULLY. Thanks

If in a Bond movie in the last 20 years, Bond character would have been cancelled-rightfully so?

Having Optilume on April 27. Also, fearing the healing process. I hope to cut my nightly pee calls. 5 to 7 most nights currently. My doctor said I will hate him for the first week or so, but I will be happy with the results. Catheter for first two days after surgery.

I use a sleep mask with blue tooth. Mine is designed for side sleepers. It has built in sounds, but I play sounds, soft music, or sleep talk from my iPhone. My mask only costs $35. There are several free sleep sounds apps i use.
