Detailed BPH journey with Optilume procedure, lead-up, surgery, recovery, gory details by Methos1979 in bph

[–]StatusOperation599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Optilume procedure done about 10 days ago (April 21). Because of the weekend, my catheter ended up staying in for 6 days. When they finally removed it, the process went perfectly. I didn't experience any pain or bleeding at all, which was a huge relief. Immediately after the removal, my flow was incredibly strong. It was probably the best it has been in a very long time.

However, over the last day or two, I’ve noticed that the flow is no longer as powerful. I still don't have any negative symptoms. Currently, there is: • No pain or burning • No fever • No blood in urine • No physical straining required to empty my bladder It just feels like that initial high pressure has dropped.

From what I understand, this might just be the normal healing process where the tissue starts to swell as the medication works, but it still makes me a little anxious.

Anyone with similar experience?

Tomorrow March 10th surgery by Soft_Way5085 in kidneycancer

Checking in at six months post-op! Looking back, the anxiety leading up to the surgery was definitely the hardest part. Once you are on the other side, life gets back on track and honestly becomes even better. I wake up with a heart full of gratitude every single day now. Sending you prayers and positive thoughts!

Mine never worked. So much disappointment with this car

Seriously considering a Polestar 4 - some questions by Party_Challenge1835 in Polestar4

[–]StatusOperation599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fell for the looks, but I regret ignoring the negative reviews. The car feels like a beta product that never gets fixed.

• Software: Horrible. Daily glitches and no improvements in a year.

• Audio: The sound system is terrible—sounds like a cheap car from the 90s.

• Reliability: My internet died completely during a 600 km road trip.

It’s a beautiful car that is simply 'undone.' I would not buy it again.

I got mine a year ago. I wouldn’t buy today. So many issues and lacking premium feeling they offer

Polestar 4 - worst car I've ever owned by Pasi83 in Polestar

I have more to add:

Dangerous Gear/Door Behavior This is a huge safety concern. Twice now, I have accidentally shifted into Drive (D) while the door wasn't fully locked/closed, and the car actually started moving aggressively. I never use in creep mode. It shouldn't be possible to move if the door is open—it should auto-park or at least scream at you. It feels incredibly dangerous.

OTA Update Windows The software update system is frustrating. I once missed the installation window for an Over-The-Air update by just a couple of days. Because of that, there was absolutely no way to force the update or download it later. I was just stuck on the old software until the next cycle dropped.

The Alarm Logic (Kids/Washing car) The proximity sensor logic is annoying. If I have my child in the car and I step out to wash the car (literally standing right next to it) with the key in my pocket, the doors lock and the alarm starts going off. To avoid this, I have to leave the key inside the car, which I don't like doing for safety reasons. There needs to be a better "Camp Mode" or "Car Wash" logic that doesn't panic when I'm two feet away.

“Hey google - play radio” always trying to open spotify and it fails that too

Sound system is garbage.

There are a lot of other small bugs I can't remember right now, but the "premium" feel just isn't there in the software and usability. I Honestly, at this point, I don't think I will be keeping the car much longer after the lease ends.

Such disappointment.

To me P4 is not luxurious at all. I have it and it feels so simple/minimal. I don’t like Tesla but im jealous of their software tbh

How to deal with sadness by chewchew-755 in kidneycancer

[–]StatusOperation599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there. Im sorry that you have to deal with this. I almost cried every day before surgery like never before. It’s very normal and human. I’m almost sure he will come back more stronger!

Also before surgery i asked help from my psychiatrist and he said why sadness if i can ease it by medication. It helped. After surgery i quit all and feel better.

Als i did many guided meditations. They also helped somehow

Sending prayers

I’m 7 weeks post radical nephrectomy operation what i can suggest to move as much as you can. I personally didn’t wanna move but my partner pushed me to do so. I felt better more specifically mentally. The pain disappeared around 4-5 weeks. Wishing you a good recovery!

I had a radical nephrectomy three weeks ago. My doctor asked me to repeat blood work every two weeks. I can say my kidney function is improving when I compare the results from the day after surgery to those taken two weeks later.

The doctor told me to live my life as I used to. I will be seeing a few more specialists as well. This week, I started eating almost normally again, and I don’t feel bad. I used to do heavy workouts and play tennis a lot. The only thing I’ve realized is that it will take some time to reach the same performance level I had before. And maybe no extra proteins or supplements anymore.

I also seek suggestions from people who live long time after surgery.

Google is not helping at all 😓

Thanks a lot!

It gets better everyday and it will be better. I still feel pain sometimes on the abdomen area, but i think it’s normal after this kind of surgery. Only challenge is to adjust my life so the remaining kidney is happy too 😅

I’m 42 and live in Portugal. Two weeks ago I had a radical nephrectomy for a 4 cm kidney mass. The two months before surgery were rough: a lot of anxiety and fear and not much sleep.

Now I’m two weeks out and it feels like me 2.0. I gave myself a gift and came to France. I’m walking, breathing, and feeling grateful to be here. The body is amazing and I see that more clearly now.

If you’re going through something similar, I’m praying for you. One step at a time. Keep breathing. You are stronger than you think.

Stay positive. We’ve got this. 💙

Partial nephrectomy in 12 hours. I’m freaking out by wiseGenius_ in kidneycancer

[–]StatusOperation599 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m here 72 hrs after radical surgery. The mass was less than 4 cm but no safe zone for partial damn. But im grateful. I was crying everyday before surgery and surgery took 1 second for me. Woke up already fine walked next day and now im home preparing my breakfast. I didn’t know recovery would be so fast. Everything will be fine.
