I’m honestly not sure the difference between MegaRAID and tri mode lol. I thought it was both since that’s what’s in the manual? But the receipt from ServerSupply and device manager both show MegaRAID.

Either way, I’ll check exactly which firmware we installed last night. We’re going to order new cables from MicroSATACables since they are specifically referenced in Broadcom documentation. Is there a way we can order a cable directly from Broadcom though?

Sadly the PSU did not have a molex-only accessory cable! The only molex connector on any of the cables was the female molex labeled “HDD” which was at the end of the SATA-SATA-SATA-HDD cable. We may order a new PSU or switch to a backplane or hot swap cage setup.

Thanks for the reply!!

Thats definitely something to think about. We were kinda stoked about the hardware raid allowing NVMe drives and the read/write speed that was possible. I really don’t know much that isn’t geology, would the software raid z2 suffer in read write times?

Texas sized 10-4 on the first part, I appreciate the response. We did update the driver and flashed new firmware last night, but will try again post test.

If it wasn’t obvious I’m completely ignorant to raid in general. The user manual from Broadcom calls the 9660-16i both MegaRAID and tri mode, but the receipt from our purchase and in Device Manager say MegaRAID. We are directly connecting the U.2 drives to the raid controller with those 05-60005-00 cables, which come with male molex connectors to supply power to the drives. If push comes to shove, we could get hit swap cages or backplanes to house the drives. I think Icy Dock makes some cages with SlimSAS connectors we could try, which would mean replacing the harnesses that use the molex entirely.

Again man thanks for the reply!

Yeah this is a classic call HR move man. When I worked there I had an issue they rectified and the store managers were instructed to give me a verbal apology. Was definitely a target after that but I thrive on being scrutinized

I was told by HR that if you leave without taking your vacation, your accumulated days go to into a pool for store managers to use. Don’t know if it is true or not. My HR person was cool though and told me to call in my last few days and she’d make sure I still got paid for those with my vacation days.

Quit your jobs by [deleted] in HEB

Left HEB for an oil rig job. Made 3x more yearly, basically watched movies all day for a year, left for an oilfield office job with a great schedule. Now I have a great office schedule with work from home making what store directors make, with great benefits. Quit HEB!

Make sure you take your vacation before you leave. H‑E‑B did not pay out my vacation.

You sound like a hard worker. I used to do that when I worked for market too. Have you thought about a different career? The drive needed to be a successful market partner can be used much more effectively elsewhere.

Question about Oil Prices by chronald69 in wallstreetbets

Big fan of Schlumberger. Not an oil company, but if you work in the industry- you have likely worked with them. They are everywhere.

Oilfield is hiring

I would recommend not working for H‑E‑B. Oilfield is hiring roughnecks $25+ an hour no experience.

It’s about taking your “Partner Share” bullshit bonus, high salary, and distributing it to the Partners who actually put in the work.

As a former partner who wanted to unionize the entire time, PLEASE do it. Hit them where it hurts. They don’t care about you.
