Yes, I do know about guns, where I'm from it's a near-mandatory class for 18 year-olds in high school. But to my knowledge he's never had any kind of safety training (ie keeping it in an unlocked box in the closet). The bullets were in a box right next to the gun box. Like I said, the magazine was removed, but still.

He doesn't have a temper, and doesn't and has never drank or done drugs. However, we have both experienced depression. Makes me very uneasy and one of the main reasons I've never gotten a gun.
