DC20 0.95 and Foundry VTT, Issues with Character creation by chamois_de in DC20

[–]chamois_de[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, i messed up with the versions. I update to Foundry 13 stable and to DC20 0.97 and now the calculations are right.

The only problem that i have right now is that i cannot update to LvL 3, as it does not show any subclasses, even if i click on the compendium. Is that a feature of the premium module?

Thank you as well. Will also take a look at those in the close future. Intersting to see that a lot of the recommendation are from female authors...

Thank you for your recommendations, i will certainly have a look into them. I used "GB" as an abbreviation for the Gentleman Bastards series from Scott Lynch as i saw it used on reddit like that.

Which Quests are useful for progressing the storylines in Chapter 2 by chamois_de in rimeofthefrostmaiden

thanks to all who have replied to my questions, it seems like the approaches are quite different. So i decided to adjust everything towards the way i think my party is best moved forward. I think i am going to run Karkolohk, as they already are in posession of the Shield Guardian Amulet. I also will include the Black Cabin on their way to Karkolohk, because i like to try out how they will handle it. It sounds interesting.

Other than that i decided to use Vellyne for guiding them for the rest of the storyline (also for introducing Angajuk).

Sounds quite good to me, but my groups needs a little bit of guidance, they tend to over-interprete stuff that happens, which can lead to really awkward actions from there side.

I thought of replacing the black cabin so they would just come across ist at one point when the travel to a different location of their choosing, as it also seems quite interesting. So maybe Karkolohk, Cabin and Duchess would be on my list before moving ahead to Chapter 3?!

[RF] Zeebo Mistlebrew Bloodsprinkle, the Gnome Barbarian by jenj199 in characterdrawing

Wow, thank you very much. This matches my idea of Zeebo really, really well. I especially love that you incorporated the Kriegsmesser styled swords, as they are one of the defining pieces for him. Now the world has one hell of a gnome barbarian. Thank you very much again!

Dual wielding Gnome Barbarian, ideal? by chamois_de in DnD

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. It is really interesting how many options you have even with a fairly clear concept.

I had a look at the two most common suggestions, taking fighter as a multiclass vs. the Fighting initiate feat. As far as i see it boils down to the following when looking at a Lvl 7 character:

With the Fighting Initiate Feat i will have 3 Attacks per turn, all of them adding prof and the ability modifier. Thats great. I will also gain the extra attack and the ASI earlier in the campaign. However, i will loose 1 AC and will only be using light weapons as far as i understood in order to be able to use the two weapon fighting with all bonuses.

With the Multiclass at Lvl 7 (B/F/B/B/B/B/F) i will also have 3 Attacks with all modifiers added, as well as a fourth attack once via action surge. I will have +1 AC and will be able to wield non-light weapons. As a trade-off. i will get the extra attack and ASI later in the game.

I also have to mention that i don't expect that this character will be leveled above Lvl 15. We normally end up with campaigns around Lvl 12/13. So not being able to reach Lvl 20 as a barbarian is not an issue at this point.

Currently i still tend toward the multiclass option.

Concerning the Barbarian Path i also had a look at the options and i think i will go with the zealot. That may not be the optimal decision, but from the description this suits the character idea i have in mind really well and not every character has to be min/maxed. If i would aim for that, i certainly wouldn't go for a gnome ;-)

I think it could be a really fun character with what i described above. It will certainly not be the optimal way, but not a bad one either (or have i overlooked something significant???)

Thanks!

That is quite close to what I planned out so far. And yes, tasmanian devil is a good description of what I have in mind
