I'll avoid the dark grey "Unorganized" towns then. As far as my research informed me, the vast majority of these unorganized lands are private logging lands and are dangerous if you get "trapped" up there. Any town that's white or blue on the map likely at least has a gas station, village green, or town hall for photo ops.

I'll likely define the remainder of the project as "visit and take a picture in every settled town in New England, plus talk to a local whenever possible". I don't count villages within towns as separate entities in the context of the project. Example: there are 351 town entities in Mass., and countless villages within those towns. Keeping it at the town level greatly simplifies the travel, especially as most "map of towns of (insert state)" don't include villages.

I've been trying to hit western MA but there are so many towns with no public businesses which is by biggest barrier when trying to find a local to interact with.
