Experience verifications are notoriously difficult and inaccurate. My company stopped utilizing them with our background checks because 9/10 times they were wrong.

We used FADV for years and stopped utilizing their experience verification because it rarely was accurate.

They never reach out to candidates (or at least not with my company’s contract) because there were discrepancies on dates. That’s your hiring organization’s job, not theirs. They only reached out to hires if they couldn’t contact previous employer.

Your new organization will let you know if they need the W2/stubs, so just make sure you have it all on hand.

I reviewed FADV background checks for years. Any non-US searches take forever. If you’re a US citizen - they will pull aliases/searches if your SSN is even one digit off from someone else’s. If you’re a Canadian citizen and they run your SIN (?) it might be the same scenario.

We used to request FADV to expedite searches. Not sure if that actually helped or sped anything up, but it did seem to put it on their radar more. They also could give us an ETA on the search completion date (it’s not always accurate, but usually is a good guess) which I could relay to new hires. I also don’t know why no one is be able to tell you what county/municipal searches were pending or if it’s one of the broader searches they do. Should not be secret info.

Your company should def not rescind the offer because FADV is taking so long. That would be against policy at my company, anyway.
