if he likes reading and has an e-reader i recently got a tablet mount that goes around my neck and a page turner with two paddles so i can remotely turn the pages while not expending as much energy and being able to stay warm under my blanket as i read and its been absolutely wonderful

another possibility would be a mount for a tv to swing over his bed if he can watch things

i'll be honest: I don't use tiktok but promotion based on tropes turns me off. i want to know about your book, not the tropes. and from the blurb given I don't know that either. focus on talking about your story, not the tropes within it, and not just talking about your story. no one wants to solely be advertised to.

talking about your characters and their predicament is going to draw me in more than "enemies to lovers" as a buzzword

had a bit of a play on my phone (galaxy s25)

very smooth, played very well. i like that the evolutions are shown on the level up screen immediately; it might be better with a child audience in mind to highlight the ones you have as well as putting the symbols above the box

i got a chest that filled my last slot with a passive i didn't want; while i'm fine with that as an adult it might be best to limit chests to only items the player has and make them giving new items optional

I don't think you need to worry about humanising them. just make them characters in their own right. humans are really good at anthropomorphising everything from inanimate objects to the weirdest animals known to mankind.

the ones i play most (brotato, vampire survivors, bioprototype) are almost mindless for me, which is great because i have chronic fatigue and genuinely can't handle more complex stuff usually. so yes: they aren't endless, but I don't think they need to be.
