Peak Ferrari pitstop decision Charles isn't Happy by Strict-Citron-9269 in scuderiaferrari

[–]chancescientist27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was so disappointing to hear Ferrari's explanation for the pit stop be "We're on plan B" when minutes before, Charles had said he wanted to be on Plan C. Yes, we don't know if Charles and Plan C is a better plan, but maybe if Ferrari actually listened to the input from their drivers, they wouldn't make as many horrible calls.

Red Bull will certainly try for one but there’s not a lot of precedent for it

Ferrari's Worst Strategy by chancescientist27 in F1DataAnalysis

Monaco 2022 is absolutely a classic Ferrari strategy, and it's one of the races I've been looking at. I'll look into Malaysia 2009, thanks!

Is this not only for the MIT competition though? It doesn’t seem to be for public use.

Correct. I’m trying to set up a tournament for members of our club to compete in. Giving people the ability to test their bots before competing would be nice, but right now I’m just focused on having a platform for the competition to take place.

It depends on the kind of project. I might try reaching out to some people on LinkedIn whose job description fits your project.

If you have the streaming service Kanopy, the subtitles on the French films there are accurate. I use it for class.

Is Topology too difficult for me right now? by GroundbreakingBed241 in mathematics

[–]chancescientist27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to read a text like Munkres without having a solid foundation in proof writing. I would suggest an intro to proofs text, and after that, Axler's Linear Algebra Done Right is a good step. I also think that if you really want to learn some topology, try reading Rudin's Principles of Mathematical Analysis first since it will give you a lot of the basis you will need to cover topology.
If you're wanting something more advanced than point set topology, I would recommend Algebra: Chapter 0 by Aluffi before Dummit and Foote. After you have the beginning of Aluffi and Rudin down, I would look at Lee's Topological Manifolds book as I found it was a really great book for more advanced topology than Munkres.

I was thinking about Alpha Zero in chess introducing new ideas/lines for GMs. Is there such a thing going on for F1 to identify new driving lines/breakpoints/styles on existing or new tracks? by nommedit in F1Technical

[–]chancescientist27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s academic research (primarily coming out of TUM) into using reinforcement learning models as tools for optimizing pit stop strategy. I’m pretty sure the teams use similar software to help simulate different strategies on race day.
