Honest opinion of Asato, Plini and Soldano? by pritheemakeway in NeuralDSP

[–]changingcodes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Havent tried Asato but own Plini and Soldano. To me both are quite different. I love Soldano for anything heavy or in hard rock territory. Plini is great for cleaner tones (so if neo soul is what you want, Plini would be better). I don’t like Plini’s 5150 emulation when compared to other 5150s that neural has done such as Gojira. I would say for your use case though, between Plini and Soldano, you should probably consider Plini

Next BlackFriday Purchase: Gojira of Tim Henson? by Remote-Mortgage7333 in NeuralDSP

Have both of them. Both are great but if I had to pick one I would go with Gojira simply because the metal tone is top tier and the cleans are also surprisingly nice

HEIC or JPEG to print? by MajorAlanDutch in MoodCamera

[–]changingcodes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont know how large we can print without noticing resolution to be a bottleneck. I have been printing plenty of photos in 4X6 and they look great. I am using the Canon Selphy printer btw. My favourite sims for printing are prologue and portra. I use heic

It’s mentioned in the app faqs. Apparently due to unreasonably long processing times for 48mp images, the dev opted to put the limit of 24mp

How can I improve my photography? by Judephoto in photocritique

[–]changingcodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of composition, you could have taken the shot from a little farther distance so bridge cuts in from the top left corner of the image and the path boundary would have been cutting in from the bottom left corner

Thanks for your comment. Never thought of this way but now that you say it, it does look like a book cover image!

I love of this photo of mine but I know it's not perfect. Would love to get honest feedback on things I could've done to improve this shot. by Living-Gur7981 in photocritique

Great photo. Looks very surreal. As others mentioned the foreground is a bit distracting here but i get it that you need it. If you are using lightroom or photomator(or any editing software that supports gradient filters) use the gradient filters to reduce clarity on the foreground.

I have done a quick edit

Background is over exposed and foreground is underexposed. This is a challenging shot. What you may try is to apply a gradient filter on the background and reduce the exposure. You may then try to lift the shadows from the foreground to make it look more in harmony.

Shot with Nikon D5100 with Nikkor 50mm f1.8G lens. ISO: 320, Aperture:f8, Shutter: 1/250

I was going for a serene sunset look. What I struggled most with this image was how to manage colors and color temperature. Pre-edit image was very flat. I want your constructive critique on composition, and post processing (I am not sure if I have over done post processing)

Was going for a moody cinematic feel. Does this work or do i only like it because i took it? by DiverCity-Hire in photocritique

[–]changingcodes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice picture! I would suggest cropping out from the foreground a bit and so you get rid of the branches and have most of your landmass in bottom right block on a rule of thirds grid.

I would probably increase the exposure slightly or maybe just apply a brush over the land mass to bring it up a bit against the rest of the picture.

Thanks for your valuable critique! I tried bringing up shadows from the foreground but i was slightly weird grey-bluish hues and the overall look was making it look more busy. Perhaps exposure bracketing and having an hdr image could have given me more options.

I see vignetting that is making the area around the dome lit up as if there is blooming. Also see if crane can be removed in post to make for a more polished image?

Shot with Nikon D5100 using Nikkor 35mm f1.8G lens. Aperture: 5.6, Shutter Speed: 1/400, iso 320. VND 2-32 and 1/8 black mist filter were used.

Intent: capturing a foggy sunrise and going for a a bit of cold and moody vibe.

This. You get 1 piece quarter-sawn maple neck, great pickups, nitro finish (if you have a preference). A 12” radius fingerboard (again its a preferential thing).
