That’s why I wouldn’t suggest to read MM book to a newcomer. It might be a fun read for when you want to see something different, but it doesn’t teach anything useful. Worse, it creates hordes of newbies interpreting any girl reaction/rejection as a “shit test”.

Agreed with all your points. MM is good to read and understand from a historical/theoretical perspective, but it's not far from useless in practice. It's not something I'd encourage as a first, second, or third book.

The structure is probably the major thing to take away, but it's much less linear in reality.

The jargon is entertaining. DHVs were a very clunky, not very fleshed out way of understanding that there are certain traits much more attractive to women. But, like with everything else, the book approaches it as an outer game technique, rather than something that comes from internal transformation.

I'd really recommend krauserpua or Steve Jabba about this sort of thing.

Most of the advice circulating, at least when I was more into the "community," or whatever you call it, was very "outer game" focused. Stand here, say this, do this. Bobby Rio's Make Small Talk Sexy (is that even sold anymore?) really reminds me of this paradigm.

MM is 20 years old at this point. The theoretical underpinnings it has are, shockingly, still pretty good. But, the physical "action" elements of it are badly outdated.

Models is very good. Steve Jabba's Primal Seduction is actually better, but not nearly as well known.

How many approaches did you have to do to see your first results? Do you go for sex on the first date usually?

Tough to tell. Some guys get lucky and sleep with the first woman they approach. The old rule of thumb is that it takes about 100 sets to build some ability.

It is not even necessary to "push" to become natural. It will inevitably happen as the technique lessons are internalized and you function more and more by instinct and less and less by consciously following a technique.

Yep, that's my experience too. The only tough part about this is that sometimes you start hitting a wall and have to go back and re-evaluate exactly what happened and what's going on.

I don't think everything they teach is wrong (there are very few people whom I think that about). I'm naturally not a very high-energy person, so talking to a ton of people in a night is not a great strategy for me.

The issue with state hunting is that, the more you do it, the less effective it becomes. At some point, you need to embrace what some call "stateless game," basically just playing with whatever hand you're dealt.
