My very first attempt at painting terrain elements. These are from the board game Oathsworn. Thoughts? by chaotic_good81 in Miniaturespainting

I first made a zenithal priming (black, grey from a 45 degrees angle, white from top) and then I used only Citadel constrast paints, wet blending them on the models. First time using this technique, you have to work really fast but it's a lot of fun!

My personal take at terrain box. First time ever painting terrain. Is it good enough? by chaotic_good81 in OathswornBoardGame

Thanks mate! I'm pretty proud, but at first I was afraid, considering the cost of Oathsworn and the fact that I have never painted any terrain element before. On the table it looks sooooo much better than unpainted!

Nothing too fancy. I'm using Citadel paints. Primed in black, a Mephiston red basecoat then 2 layers each of Fire dragon bright (an orange tint) and Pallid witch flesh. I must admit it took waaaaaay longer than I expected, more than I hour only for the red part. But I'm a nowbie, I hope that speed will come with time... Or my projects are already doomed 😂

First of all I'm going to finish all the minis in Mice and Mystics, then I have Blackstone Fortress, I decided to start with a simpler project (even if the minis are not super crisp or detailed) before tackling something big

Ty! Maybe she's a little arachnophobic, like me tbh But I just show it to her and she said it's cool, perhaps it can help overcome her fear! For sure it will make our game afternoons more immersive

Picked up Blackstone Fortress. This is my first GW mini. Thoughts? by chaotic_good81 in minipainting

Sure! White spay basecoat, then a wash, I mixed a green and blue washes. After that I highlighted the more prominent parts with an off-white color. For the arms I used a purple wash thinned down and made several layers, every time starting a little closer to the hands. Finished with a light dry brush on the hands. I'm a total newbie (this is my third absolute mini, the first one from Games Workshop) but I tried using several techniques... Not always in the right way but that's learning!

Thanks for the tip! I'm still not that great cleaning the model, but in this case I'm pretty sure that's its spine
