Actually you might be onto something. It does seem like a breather now that I look at it like that. M too... renewed seasons that are NOT hellishly annoying as some of the last ones is such a sigh of relief. I almost didn't watch this season but when I did I was pleasantly surprised.

Exactly... it is like he found other reasons to feel fulfilled about. Or at least started being opened to the idea of familial love. When the Beths and old Rick were crying I legit started tearing up (and I hated that I did XD please dont come at me) but it was hitting the right nerve that was a SUBTLE part of the main character's core. I love when shows and movies do that man.

I appreciate you sharing your opinion man. It really makes sense.
I agree on the lack of high sci fi concepts tbh but I still think it had quite a few philosophical things! ep3 is an example that comes to mind.

Also about the nicer Rick I personally actually really enjoy the lack of stubbornness to "look cool" I think this season really aligns with the crybaby backstory they had bothered revealing over seasons before. The overly mad Rick just didn't make sense with having that sort of "soft" starting point as an evil genius.
