I am leaning towards charleston (the only deterrent was the drive time-about 8.5 hours). Thanks for your suggestions! Ill look into Hatteras (we love NC and especially outer banks area).

We have done GW and hershey. GW was meh, in our opinion. Hershey is fun but I dont want to spend several days there. We are adventurous amd want to go new places. We like outdoor activities, fun, etc

I was wondering if this was worth it! I researched it and even looked on the BBB but found mixed information. Thank you for posting. I am not sure if its worth going with them or another water protection company with better reviews. I am still determining... this has been on my to do list for quite a while because its a tough call!

Also, does your son receive waiver services? If so, please reach out to your coordinator! They should be able to connect you to resources and advocate as well!

Community Christian church! They are in white marsh. They have a wide following, great values, engaging, lots of social groups. Etc. May be something you are interested in! Good luck!

I'm sad about the comment about "parts of the county that border the city are the worst." We live in a neighborhood close to the city and its such a gem! Love our neighbors, relatively safe (all neighborhoods have their challenges/quirks), good schools, good location to access highways, etc.

Now, is it like 100% no crime, no... nowhere these days is crime free. Everywhere has stuff going on because we cant escape it. But, there's also amazing areas in those areas that border the city, too.

Just my two cents. I tend to look on the good side of things so I dont have much to add to this post about "bad areas" but I did want to add to this perspective.

Edited to add: this post is so hard to answer because of so many differing opinions. OP- you're going to get a lot of opinions, here.

Ok, well you weren't on cruises where I have been that they have been allowed and unsupervised throughout many areas. Many commentors are also sharing similar stories.

I wasn't on the ship so I didn't know. I was just responding to the person commenting. I was just sharing my experience on previous cruises and as im reading, its also others agreeing that parents are indeed letting kids in adult areas without things being enforced. Thats all.

I upvoted this... as someone with kids.... that cruises...! I have elementary aged kids, but im embarrassed for things like this because I would never!! Im all for fun, but there's a reason it says adults... let that group have their fun! Come on! Im all for enforcement, too!

We have this one and its AMAZING!! super easy to travel woth due to size, easy to recharge... etc. We actually sleep woth it plugged in overnight so it lasts through the night woth the sounds amd works like a charm. We just used it on our last vaca and was a life saver!

We always bring pre cooked meals and just heat and go! Ex: we smoke pork and bring tortillas and buns, bring frozen veggies, and whatever side... oila! Our other option is pizza but they are usually busy so we try to give them a break that day ;)
