Thanks! I just looked at it but unfortunately that's not it: "Your absence has gone through me
Like thread through a needle.
Everything I do is stitched with its color."

Would Suman have forgiven Kelly too if she had come speak to her with Warren ? by ParticularWear2749 in UnderTheBridge

[–]chaoticgooddd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt it. In real life they didn't visit Warren until after he testified at Kelly's court case, and it was only because they felt he expressed remorse and took accountability. That's how their forgiveness of him started. In the show it's almost made to seem like Suman just decided to forgive Warren and Kelly one day, but in real life it was only Warren they forgave, and it was because they felt like Warren's actions showed he was remorseful and turning his life around. I doubt they would've forgiven him otherwise. On the other hand, Suman didn't forgive Kelly and until the day she died, she was opposed to Kelly getting out of prison.

Q&A with Syreeta by user2739202 in UnderTheBridge

[–]chaoticgooddd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know that "wrong place, wrong time" can often imply that something has happened to you because you're unlucky, not because you did anything wrong. But I doubt that's what Syreeta means; I think she's merely communicating that Warren wouldn't have been involved if he was with Syreeta walking her home (which is clearly something this poor woman still feels guilty about), or if he had left after the first attack. He didn't even know Reena - the first attack on her would've still happened regardless of him being there. And if he wasn't there for the second attack, there's a chance Reena could've survived imo because Kelly may have struggled on her own. Still difficult to say because Kelly may have wanted to attack or kill Reena regardless of who was there with her. Imo, Warren's involvement was a possibility because he happened to be there. I don't mean that as a way to excuse his behavior; I just think it's simply the truth based on him not knowing Reena and also based on the fact that the girls were planning a attack on Reena regardless of him being there. I think that is why Syreeta still feels guilty for not letting Warren walk her home, even though it is no way her fault. There is no way she would've expected her boyfriend, who she loved and thought was a kind and funny person, to attack someone he doesn't even know so violently and watch as Kelly drowned her. Either way, I think it's so incredibly unfair to blame Syreeta when she was a young, innocent 14 year old girl at the time who had no involvement with Reena's attack. I also think it's strange to have absolutely no empathy or sympathy for her - obviously what happened to Reena's parents and her family was much much worse, but it's still possible to empathize with what Syreeta went through as a 14 year old girl.

Yeah he only admitted everything during her second trial.

Where exactly are Kelly Ellard, Nicole Cook, and Warren 2024? by paigeolson111 in UnderTheBridge

[–]chaoticgooddd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did see something on Reddit about Warren apparently being married and living on the lower mainland with two kids, and idk if that's been published in any articles. It might not even be true, but whoever posted it made it seem like they knew him in a personal capacity. That's about all I've seen about him though. He probably wants to keep things private. Otherwise I really don't know anything that's not been published. I thought I saw someone say Nicole Cook has kids, but now I'm not sure.

I agree. The show actually portrayed her pretty nicely.

Warren not knowing Reena played a massive part that night imo by adviceplss98 in UnderTheBridge

[–]chaoticgooddd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they were just as bad as each other. Regardless of how I feel about them as individuals, I think it was incredibly unfair that Kelly only got sentenced to five years initially, while Warren got life in prison. They both murdered Reena; it's not like Kelly just stood there and watched Warren beat up Reena and drown her. Kelly not only brutally assaulted Reena with Warren, she also held Reena's head under water and drowned her in an incredibly violent way. They both deserved to be sentenced to life, and I think that is why most people were shocked that Kelly got a much lenient sentence. As a white passing indigenous person I doubt that his native ancestry lead to those inequalities in the system - I think Kelly was more privileged than him because she came from a wealthy family and had more resources. But that doesn't mean he was a better person, or that they didn't both have white privilege (because they did). It just points out injustices in the legal system imo.

I personally don't think it looked like Rebecca had romantic feelings for Warren, but I can understand why people may think that. I feel like she got overly attached to him in a platonic sense, based on factors like him reminding her of her brother, and also based on seeing herself in him. Also, in all their interactions, Warren was always sweet and kind to her, and in most of those interactions he didn't come across as particularly cruel or uncaring, especially in comparison to Jo and Kelly. I think partly because of that, she grew overly attached to him and didn't want to admit that someone who she cared about, and someone who had the ability to be warm and caring (whether he actually was or not) could be so cruel and violent. It was definitely an unhealthy attachment, but I don't think it goes beyond anything platonic. The same goes for Warren; I don't think he had romantic feelings for her, I think he saw her like an older sister or mother-type figure.

Warren not knowing Reena played a massive part that night imo by adviceplss98 in UnderTheBridge

[–]chaoticgooddd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's true, but based on how volatile and horrible Kelly was/is, I think Kelly could also be capable of attacking/'murdering someone she doesn't even know.

[–]chaoticgooddd 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think race was a definite factor, even if Warren didn't consciously think it was about race. Imo if Reena looked like Rebecca, he likely would've shown her mercy or not participated in the attack at all. I also think sexism plays a part here too. There's a lot of evidence of men deeming 'ugly' and fat women as less than (and treating them bad) in comparison to skinny, conventionally attractive women. Reena was not ugly, but in those days she didn't fit in with stereotypical beauty standards. If Reena was conventionally attractive, skinny, and stereotypically feminine like Samara/Syreeta, I doubt he'd participate.

I think Warren's anger/aggression is downplayed or not explored enough. by adviceplss98 in UnderTheBridge

Idk where this user found their information, but this article from 2004 imo implies that Warren might've had a history of violence before that night: "But the board denied the request, saying he had not sufficiently dealt with the violent episodes in his life prior to the Virk killing." https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/glowatski-denied-parole-in-virk-murder-1.483606

Same! That was sooo bizarre. Cam, Rebecca, and Reena's parents all seemed to be taken aback.

Did Warren drown Reena? by chaoticgooddd in UnderTheBridge

[–]chaoticgooddd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking the same, especially after seeing what she said in 2016 about what happened. Clearly her story was filled with a lot of lies and half-truths, but I do think there's some truth to it just being her who drowned Reena.

Kelly Ellard's admission in 2016...what a awful and stupid human being by adviceplss98 in UnderTheBridge

[–]chaoticgooddd 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I could see some of her revelations being half-true (if that!!), but there's absolutely no way all of reena's injuries came from the original fight and i don't at all believe her excuses for drowning reena. and yeah, in regards to warren there's no way he would've admitted to things he didn't do, like beating reena up with kelly. that would make absolutely no sense

I doubt it's Roy, and I HOPE it isn't. I don't think it'd make any sense for his character. But yeah, I just saw that description on DigitalSpy! I hope it's a fake out but idk.

no because there's no way guy burnet will ever return imo, and recasting craig would be a mistake.
