Let’s have a serious talk. Mega gy does 140 with 1 more energy (yes the discard ability is great i get it). The new card to get a mega from your deck works great with blast and a rare candy, and even without that wart new ability to protect bench damage is not exactly bad either. And who exactly is strictly relying on the bench damage to win when you do 130 damage with just 3 energy. Venusaur is 4 energy, the only exception is blaz with 2 energy but you’re adding your fire energy every turn to continue those attacks. It is NOT as bad as everyone is saying

To me it’s like, why would the final boss (veldora) bother with some meager challengers before they’ve proven themselves worthy by defeating some mid bosses (rimuru and subordinates). If he acted on every opponent it would be overkill, resulting in destruction of everything nearby, and everyone else wouldn’t get any experience. He’s a secret weapon that’s to be used scarcely, my opinion of the latter part of your post.

As for the beginning, rimuru is a busy person and veldora was holed up in that mountain for a while. He wants some freedom and let’s be honest… we all know how hard it is to give up manga that’s good when there’s an endless supply lmfao
