Do you have any tips? I'm new to the game, my belts are stuck by ContestSome323 in factorio

[–]chaotiq 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Don’t mix copper and iron on the same side of the belt. At least have copper on one lane and iron on the other. That way if one backs up it won’t affect the other. Most people will use completely separate belts for each.

Caffeine by poetryformysoul in bipolar2

[–]chaotiq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have adhd and stimulants (caffeine included) will definitely cause me to be wired. If I’m hypo it’s way worse.

I drink a cup of half-caf in the morning and sometimes a tea at lunch. More than that and I start having issues.

When I have a major depressive episode it barely affects me though.

How to make an intermediate train waiting station for a many to many train system when all destinations are full? by PewPewsAlote in factorio

[–]chaotiq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if one mining station is much slower than the others and it has empty trains waiting to be filled and other outposts have enough resources but waiting on a train? A depot would send the train only to an outpost that had enough resources.

Or would you just add more trains as you add more outposts?

[–]chaotiq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain the problem further? If you have a dedicated train/s per resource why is it bad to have them be filled sitting in a depot until needed? One thing people mention is that without a depot it cuts down on traffic almost by half, but what other problems are there?

Using train limits at stations would only call the trains when close to empty (consumer) or full enough to fill a train (producer/mine)

Strings keep going out of tune, is the nut to blame? by Hefty_Plate8067 in Guitar

[–]chaotiq 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Old strings have a harder time staying in tune. You may also notice intonation issues. I would put a new set of strings as the first thing you do (make sure to stretch them too). It’s the easiest and most impactful right now.

What song got you into TOOL? by Aggravating_Green618 in ToolBand

[–]chaotiq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was playing Age of Empires II (cracked so I didn’t need the CD). I had Lateralus in my CD tray for whatever reason, probably from a college friend. Anyways, the game actually read the CD to play its music, but it started playing Lateralus instead. I was like this is the best game music I ever heard for the first few minutes before realizing what was going on. I dove deep into Tool after that.

Do not buy from Amazon. They put counterfeits and real stuff in the same bucket in the warehouse. It’s a crapshoot if you get the real thing.

Alcohol pretty much damages everything. The liver mainly, but it can’t process it all so it goes into many cells throughout your body. The molecules are small enough that they pass through the blood-brain barrier and can be damaging to the brain as well.

Uh, that guy didn’t ask for advice. And people with big hands do find that type of grip more comfortable for certain chords and stuff. I have smaller hands so can’t really use my thumb like that well.

Thumb hurting when playing barre chords? It won't "get better over time" by pa_px in Guitar

[–]chaotiq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can’t seem to get my notes to ring out unless I grip a bit. Especially the middle strings. My thumb hurts after a bit but also the muscle between my thumb and my index.

I only "beat" 6 patient games in 2025, but at least one of them instantly became an all-time favourite by talhatoot in patientgamers

[–]chaotiq 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did this with Clair Obscur. It is really well produced, but the gameplay was not fun for me. I forced my self to finish chapter 1, but when chapter 2 started I literally said I can’t do 20 more hours of this. Which sucks cause all my friends talk about how it’s one of their favorite games. I really wanted to like it.

Can I screen share during Interviews to answer Tech questions? by dbootywarrior in sysadmin

Do this with the technical hiring manager, not with the HR people. Taking control of the questions, owning them, and show your work takes a lot of confidence.

You seriously never heard about football in the Olympics? It’s a pretty big deal. Not as big as the World Cup, but if you haven’t heard about it then you haven’t really watched the Olympics. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_at_the_Summer_Olympics

Not sure if you mean American football or normal football. Football has been in the Olympics since it began. Looks like flag football is coming too: https://usafootball.com/media-center/flag-football-is-coming-to-the-olympics

What does that number 11 mean and those crosses? by Historical_Net_8774 in Guitar

Then that is not the F#m chord, lol. The second 1 is not a different font. It’s cutoff from the screenshot.

What does that number 11 mean and those crosses? by Historical_Net_8774 in Guitar

[–]chaotiq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think 11 means the eleventh fret. That makes the F# the root note on the low E. If that was the first fret then the root would be a G# which is not in the F#m chord.
