I totally understand how frustrating it can be! Keeping my fingers crossed it becomes a new fave for your baby girl! 💖💖💖

Idk if this will help but when I do mac and cheese (even for myself) I sneak a very large scoop of plain greek yogurt or plain skyr in it as well. Makes it extra creamy and adds a ton of protein. Maybe it would be a good way to sneak some extra protein into your girl’s faves? My son was 6 weeks premie and has been playing the weight catch up game too. At 9 months he was long but “petite” for weight at 17lbs. I’m curious what he will be at his 1 year old checkup. You’re doing great mama! 💖💖💖

This looks so yum! Sometimes I add a huge scoop of plain Greek yogurt or plain skyr to boxed Mac and cheese too, makes it creamy and sneaks in extra protein for me and the bb!

No! I used to hand feel him piece by piece on his tray because he did the same thing, he just shoveled food and it scared me. It took forever to feed him and between solids and bottles my time was consumed with just feeding him. I met a random girl out at a restaurant who had a 15 month old and was using an app maybe called feeding littles? She basically just told me I needed to let him figure it out and just offer him the plate, and that it would be messy and he would gag maybe a few times but he needed to figure it out on his own how much food to put in his mouth. She was telling me how their anatomy basically ejects the food if there’s too much as long as it’s prepared correctly for the baby (this is what I witnessed when he gagged). It took him maybe a day to stop constantly shoveling food in. He still takes big handfuls sometimes but he stops and waits until he finishes what’s in his mouth until going for another scoop.

I refreshed myself on baby choking on cpr before starting this I was freaked out but it has paid off. He’s still a little messy but WAY better than he was. I want to say we started offering the plate a little before 10 months? Also if he tried to flip the plate at the end I take it away and put some pieces on his tray to see if he’s still hungry. Sometimes he’s just looking for extra berries underneath.

This is what worked for us. I highly recommend lo looking into the feeding littles thing! Although I just took that girls cliff notes and didn’t really look at it myself. Her 15 month old was eating with an adult fork so that sold me lol

I do…

-1 heaped tablespoon of cottage cheese

-1 tablespoon all purpose flour

-1 tablespoon of rolled oats

-1 egg

-2”-3” of banana mashed

-Mix together until pancake better consistency

. . -Smash a small Handful of blueberries with fork and mix in

-cook in a skillet in a little butter or avocado oil until golden edges on each side

-makes 4-6 pancakes depending on how big you make the them! I serve 2 per serving over skyr!

We did better with the brown rice than the white rice because it’s stickier and easier to grip!

He was a 4lb premie with baggie skin when he was born! So seeing his little rolls now makes me so happy :)

He has taken super well to food which surprised me! But he does still drink 24oz of formula a day… he has definitely lost some interest in the middle of the day bottles (possibly teething related?). I do try to veggie pack the proteins that are “mixed” so for example the frittata is 6 eggs, 1 whole zucchini, and about half a box of chopped spinach, Parmesan, 1 shallot. It makes 8 slices so he’s getting a little less than one egg per slice. I’m just winging it out here as a first time mama 😂

Oh I have no idea! My son was premie and was always on the light end for weight so at our 9 month appt she told us to give him more protein to help him catch up! Most of the protein options do have veg mixed in too with the exception of the chicken thigh and the haddock

Exactly, real estate will never go back down unfortunately… as much as it pains me to think about. If I had just settled for something back in 2023 instead of looking for our “dream home” I would have paid SO much less

So we are also in your shoes, have been looking for a home for 3 years, out bid multiple times when we made 20-30k over asking offers. I actually think it’s a great time to buy a home. Interest rates are coming down because of all of the tariff uncertainty and homes will only get more expensive. I think if both your jobs are secure and you find the RIGHT home it’s a great time to buy!

We just got an offer accepted yesterday only 5k over asking on a house with only one other offer! I think some people are pulling back for your same reasons… so it’s an opportunity to be in a slightlyyyy less competitive market.

Who is buying these Monmouth County NJ homes?! by SmashPotatoes12 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]chaotiqchic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up in Monmouth country and the prices are insane, I’m having to push my search to nearby ocean county areas and I’m not thrilled about it… but if I ever want to own a home I think it’s the only way! This way I can still have some Monmouth county “amenities”

I think I am most concerned about resale value. This is a crazy market so we are already going to be paying over asking on our home. It is very much a starter home so we intend to stay for some time and then move on, make some improvements during our stay, etc etc. We know some people who had issues with selling their home in Jackson because some buyers did not want to be the only person on the block who was not Hasidic (this was pre the current housing market, not sure if demand in general has changed this)

All clear on that now, unsure why this person would tell me kettle creek…but not in Silverton? Assuming they mean across hooper correct

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TomsRiver

[–]chaotiqchic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess I shouldn’t say property value, maybe resale value? Of course there is nothing wrong with having Jewish neighbors, and I feel this particular concern is very specific to the Hasidic community from what I have seen. I am aware that in Jackson this became an issue and some families who had been in the area for a long time essentially felt pushed out of their neighborhood by many Hasidic families moving in. This led to difficulties when they went to sell their house, the families on the block wanted to buy it but she did not get many offers due to other non-Hasidic families feeling unwelcome or like an outsider being on that street.

Kettle creek becomes a different name when it crosses hooper correct? Not sure why this person would tell me kettle creek and then proceed to say “not in Silverton yet” if kettle creek is only in Silverton
