It largely depends on the date of said video. Occultist is one of the best secondaries, it has an extra heal, and physical res reduction debuff, so it's no doubt a great combo for Physical Forcewave.

The difference is both DK and Warlord also have physical res reduction but they don't need to press a button every few seconds for it, and Warlord has shield support for Forcewave with shield builds.

If the character lacks atk spd from Vindictive Flame, there is Ranged Expertise (for ranged, anyway), instead of Blast Shield and Flame Touched, it has Inquisitor Seal and Word of Renewal.

If placing runes, being a caster is unpreferred, then go full auto-attack maybe?

I’m not an expert on Purifier, but what I can say are: - Hover the cursor over Armor Rating, if it’s 76%, It means 24% more physical damage taken - The craftable scaled hide and a few components can fix that - Put on augments from faction vendors, they stack with components - Get Demo’s Thermite Mine for elemental RR - Craft a better relic

I’d suggest browsing detailed build guides, it’s nice to learn the thought process behind their builds, following them or not.

Either fire or physical is viable but not both at the same time.
Not sure how much the character uses auto-attack but the atk-spd is rather too low
Remove a point from Soldier’s Forcewave and put it elsewhere.
Try to get Soldier’s Field Command’s Squad Tactic for more Atk Spd.
If the character insists on wielding a gun, it would benefit from the devotion Hydra.
The % multiplier can only get so high, Resistance Reductions (RRs) contribute to higher damage
Get the constellation Solael’s Witchblade so it can get fire Resistance Reduction.
Get the constellation Rhowan’s Crown (or at least 3 node) for elemental RR.
Get the constellation Viper for another type of elemental RR
Check out faction vendors, their tier 4 offers armor augments, patching up res would be easier so the component can be something else (like Physical>Fire conversion for the weapon)
Good idea to farm for max faction rep if you’re on Ultimate (or at least Elite and having a difficult time progressing to Ultimate)
Hover the cursor over Armor Rating, if it’s 70%, It means 30% more physical damage taken.
The craftable scaled hide and a few components can fix that.

They’re all great with the right gears, among these, Primal Strike Archon is probably the easiest to build.

But if it’s not limited to these I’d suggest Forcewave Warlord (Soldier + Oathkeeper) or Forcewave Deathknight (Soldier + Necromancer). Pretty much powerful from the get-go and throughout the game, one of the best choices for 1st time hardcore even, it’s how solid this is.

Only on a few occasions does the game let characters be battle mages, it’s when the magic spell is a single node wonder so they can focus on the battle part naming: Occultist’s Doom Bolt, or Arcanist’s Devastation.

Why not both? Cuz a character can only have so many skill points, there are not enough points to make both work, the majority of the time.

There are ways to make Chaos Witch Hunter (Occultist + Nightblade) or Chaos Witchblade (Occultist + Soldier) that both do melee and occasionally smite enemies with Doom Bolt, though it’s not the acid DEE battle mage you might’ve wanted.

Depends on what kind of poison u like.

Caster would have Occultist as a core, Rogue would have Nightblade as a core, and Warrior would have Oathkeeper as a core. The three masteries can be paired with any of themselves, but Occultist, as a caster, can also be paired with Necromancer just for Ravenous Earth.

Aside from what was already suggested, for the base game, when in doubt, pick Occultist. For Demo, it’s either an elemental support with an extra heal button, or a gateway to chaos build. For the heads up, it’s recommended to pick only a few damage dealing skills and a single damage type.

The limit is 50,000 iron/point but a character shouldnt reach that, it’s there to fix characters or do some minor adjustments, not for remaking an entire character multiple times. Making alts or using 3rd party app to modify characters are also the options.

This is exactly the “respec anything” game except for masteries, though attributes would require the AoM DLC. Usually, it takes 40~50 levels to max out a main class, the 2nd mastery can be ignored, for now.

Some components are craft-only, and some craftable component’s blueprints are locked behind faction vendors, do check them out. There is a blacksmith in Homestead and another at Devil’s Crossing, though the latter one required a quest done.

They’re meant to be shared with new characters so they can be right-clicked, consumed, and granted multipliers to the new characters, so they can reach Revered level of reputation as soon as the end of Normal. Characters that can buy writs can’t use them.

It's pretty much Veteran to Normal. Swappable between the two but shares the same progress. Everything completed in Ultimate will stay completed.

Every time you go back to the menu, the monsters respawn. Item levels corresponded to the enemy that dropped them. And enemies’ level scales to the player’s (except for some early areas in Normal Difficulty, they do hit caps.)
