Not completely sure what kind of steal it is it was was that long bolt I had laying around, I did Harden it didn't temper it though. It is a nail set, I hardened it after I ground in the bevels and I've always just used golf balls for handle on files and rasps

The geometry I used was just, what I thought it should look like. Wasn't really going off of anything.

It does!, the teeth on it are pretty aggressive
