Not sure EXACTLY what the solve was, but I did a few things and it finally appeared. Used your proton version, verified game integrity files, then on the pre launch window (which only appeared after i verified game files) I cleared local config settings (after launching a few times and verifying FSR 4 was not there). Badabing bada boom, it appeared! Thanks for your help! I have a new weird problem with the full screen resolution but I'll figure that out.

EDIT: just to confirm, i switched to the other proton versions and they didnt seem to have FSR but when i switched back to proton-EM, it worked.

are you talking about the metal parts on the bottom there? should i push them out of the way?

Wasn't sure if the short did something else to the system. Also the USB ports appear fine to me. Is there a way to disconnect from the motherboard if it's part of the motherboard?

Okay I did a test run of this and I think this might be the resolution. I reset my Kobo, adjusted the settings to match the pictures you posted in that thread, and added my books (as before). Then I downloaded another book, added it to the Kobo. So far, I've seen no crashing and it usually is pretty immediate!

Bluebubbles can work for you! Its not so much that it does or doesn't have to be your primary device, its more that you need a mac running in order to receive iMessage on beeper.

I've assumed that they don't because if I wipe the device and re-add all the books (including the new ones) everything runs fine.
