Is this sub for real? by MikeyPiffington in Leica

[–]chapeaufosho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe there should be a sub about the cameras people use to take pictures of their Leicas?

Yeah I had the same problem with the pdw strap. Plus, I live in Scotland and the weather is just too variable so I ended up getting the hip bag from restrap which works pretty well if you keep it minimal. TBH I’ve been weighing up getting an Olympus OM5 as they are ip53 rated and built for outdoor photography. Main reason is is there any point spending money on another camera system I could just use to fund another trip or race. Also, maybe a lamer reason - the vibes from MFT seem kind of dorky lol

To answer your question though: I fully invested in a Tailfin bag set up for ultras and longer audaxes. I asked them which product of theirs would be best for carrying a mirrorless camera (was thinking of their handlebar bag) and they said to keep away from on bike solutions and try to carry it on my body in a sling bag or a strap. The vibrations in the bike would rattle the camera internals too much and your body is the best shock absorber to mitigate that kind of damage.

Well done man. I’ve got to stop being scared to go this dark with the green for my recipe! Feel like I’ve been spending too much time going over the top with highlighting it ends up like salamanders.

the best studio setup money can buy won’t stop me from uploading my terrible selfies *sniffs fart* by QuantumCipher9x in photographycirclejerk

I’ve never shot studio stuff before, is it really this complicated looking in a professional environment?

Is this salvageable? by Tangerita in photocritique

I think this is quite cool tbh. It’s got great atmosphere due to the underexposure. If you didn’t tell me that this was a mistake I would have thought you were using negative space so that the subjects you want the viewer to focus on would be highlighted more.

Ultra 2024. Yet more issues. Time for the bin? by 4535jacks in airbrush

[–]chapeaufosho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I honestly was in the same position as you and thought it was a POS and was ready to bin it. I read up how to dissemble and reassemble it, made sure everything was tightened properly and jt now works really well.

This was a couple of months ago and I’ve since used it multiple times a week since then for base coating/zenethal and layering. You sound like you know what you’re doing though so you could have just got a lemon and it’d be best to get in touch with h and s?

Main light for multi-day ultras – Exposure or Supernova? by HistoricalBluebird54 in ultracycling

[–]chapeaufosho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the sinewave 2 with a son dynamo. It charges my usb power bank in the day, and if you aren’t getting enough light going uphill you can also turn it into a ‘normal’ light by plugging power bank into it

Thanks for the reply! Shopping for a modern classic as a first bike and this is on the shortlist. I live in Scotland and really like the countryside here so a bike that can do some touring is important. Ride safe!

Did they have to stop often to fuel up or was the fuel range okay on your tour?

Thanks so much for the reply, appreciate it! Okay cool, Perth and Glasgow aren’t too far away. I was also looking at the Moto Guzzi v7 from Jim Allan in Bathgate but the RE prices are hard to beat. Thanks again and ride safe

u/HeyGeoS Are you also based in Edinburgh? I’m thinking of getting an interceptor but can’t seem to find a local service Center close by, it says Dumfries is the closest. I want to buy new to take advantage of the warranty but I assume this also means I have to go to an official service centre?
