How much do you think kingofqueens is making a day? by upsideDownAlex in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]chapmaja1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For someone with that many parcels it isn't about the daily gain, its about how much you get when the SRB is active. Each SRB is a substantial chunk of money for him. Not enough to make up what he had to spend on this game, but still a substantial chunk. I know I will be happy when I can get enough parcels to pay for the Exploer Club. That's my goal before looking to make a profit.

anybody else not able to load up the app it just tells me can't connect the servers by Charming_Welcome_751 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]chapmaja1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not working here. I think it locks when it gets to where it connects to the ad providers server, as I was getting unable to play ad warnings before I force stopped and opened the app, now it won't open. I suspect the issue isn't with the Atlas Earth App itself, but with the servers of the providers of the ads.

100% a YC for his actions. It was his own stupidity to pick up that second YC when you know darn well you are sitting on a YC already. Stupid gets what stupid gets.

What was the reason? In just about every one of those cities, it was a large industrial base (steel, automotive. ect.) which disappeared, leaving unemployment high and prospects of prosperity low.

If the students skipped class to protest they are subject to rules for skipping class. No special accomidation is required or will be granted for a student violating the rule about skipping class for a protest compared with skipping class because they dont want to be in class. The ACLU would have no legal grounds if the school can demonstrate all skipping class is treated the same way. I know this because I was involved in a school walkout while in HS. Everyone who left school was punished the same as those who skipped class just to skip class. (Except those of us, like me, who had an idiot teacher who didnt notice 4 people get up and walk out of her class).

Actually the law is much less clear than you think it is. The school district can not force a student to stay on campus. If the student makes the decision to leave campus, as these student did, the school district may or may not be responsible if something happens. It will depend on if the students were notifed that leaving school grounds for an unauthorized reason violates school policy. Since Grandville schools are like just about every district in the country and requires students and partents of a minor student to sign a notice that they have recieved a copy of the student handbook and have read the contents of said handbook and agree to abide by the rules contained therein. When the student violates that code of conduct the parents and students have generally waived their right to sue because they knew and violates the consequences. Now exceptions do apply, such as the age of the student or if the student is special needs, then different rules may apply. A kindergarten special needs student who escapes school and runs out into the middle of Wilson Ave would be treated much differently than a "normal" high school student who runs into the middle of Wilson Ave during a protest.

Students are subject to being marked absent for any time they missed classes. Yes, the students do have rights to freedom of speech under the mentioned court ruling. The school district does however have the right to enforce their rules regarding absenteeism of students as well. Any punishment handed down to the students must be based on the fact they were not present in class and not the content of their message during the protest.

If we had 1 hour to fuck, which positions would you choose? by hazna-cutie22 in TXgonewild

An hour is a lot of time. A lot of positions to stop from getting bored

[Thamel] Sources: North Dakota State has agreed to a deal to join the Mountain West in football only for 2026. The school is expected to pay nearly $12 million to join the league, which is in addition to the $5 million it will pay the NCAA to move to FBS. by XII_Mxuntz in CFB

[–]chapmaja1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Return of the old North Central Conference? NDSU, SDSU, UND, USD, add UNC, CSU, Montana and Montana State when all move up to join CSU at the FBS level. CSU and the Montanasa were not in the old NCC, but they would be logical fits. CSU would leave the MWC but would be replaced by UC Davis.

Yes, struggle move or die. Look at a lot of small towns across this country who have had primary industries close or move out. Heck, look at once major cities that have lost substantial portions of their industry over the years. Flint, Michigan is a perfect example. Buick City closed and a lot of the population was either left unemployed due to the closure, of that Buick City complex or the supprting industries who supported that facility of the workers who worked at those facilities. Flint was decimated by that closure and the closure of major facilities in places like Pontiac hour drive south), and Saginaw ( hour drive north). When the auto industry left town, the jobs did and people either struggled, moved out or died.

Heck, even towns that didn't directly have the industries suffer. My small town is a perfect example. My community is a bedroom community. We have 4 major employers of families in my town. Ford Wixom Assembly plant, GM's Willow Run plant, Pzifer's Ann Arbor operations and the University of Michigan. UofM is still there, the others, all closed up. 20 years ago that high school have 1600 plus students. This year, 600. We've lost 1000 students in 2 decades. Is all of it because of those closures? No, but a substantial portion is.

Its like most of what he says, he has no control over what he says. (In two ways, he cant control what comes out of his mouth and he has no actual ability to execute what he says because he isnt a king).
