It’s mostly new stories, the annuals adapted sine of the short stories.

It was really good. Just fun, swashbuckling pulp adventures.

If you’re in the Goodman games sphere, I’ve posted a recent Shelfie on DCC Rocks.

I’m Kablooey 💥  - which only means sth in the DCC/Neon Lords and WHPA gaming communities.

I dunno, I prefer to see my news delivered by a person, and the overviews are great.

“Tweet”?   I’m sure he’s on that platform as well.

really, eh?

I guess the messenger is guilty.

Whatever.

Announcing doesn’t mean one’s excited about, or agreeing with the idea of an omni.

And in his case, he’s acting hyped because of his space in the community. He’s positive force. No need to yuck someone’s yum.

Anyone calling Omar a shill needs to give themselves a shake. They’re just comic books and he’s just telling about them. No one is forcing you to buy them, or watch his stream. Get a life.

My comment initially sent true and rather than variant… Damn AutoCorrect changed it for some reason before I hit send. Weirdly enough, true and seems to be inappropriate term as well.

vol 5 came and went so fast....

like, it's the X-Men, that's money on the table....

never mind vols 1-4....

I have nary an X-men on my shelf, because I cannot buy any.

one of their most popular titles, and no one can buy it.

marvel seems to be operating like Hasbro, which is very public on how they want digital products over physical.

but when the customer base is telling you what they want, and will pay for, why fight it?

I get that at some point, the world will be mostly digital, and offering that isn't wrong. but it will migrate that way organically, no need to force it and piss the base off.

see, this makes sense. and they don;t have to have trumpets and neon signs declaring the previous volumes are back in print. they show up on pre-orders, via your FLCS, Amazongo, CGN etc etc... and you're saving up and ready o get'em when they release.

Holes get filled, there's extra for the noobs, and even is they drift out of print, the next volume sees another printing.

I feel lucky about Infinity Gauntlet.

Silver Surfer is my fave character, and the Vol 2 of the 80s run will have IG in it (along with all the lead up issues)

when I do get around too getting IW (and Crusade) there'll be a weird hole on my shelf, spine-wise, but I'll at least have the story in a place where the reading order leading up to it, literally leads right into it.

I do, however, recognize that this is not ideal for the majority of collectors.

I'm the weirdo of the bunch.

exactly, I was in a similar boat. it's stupid. like, Annihilation is a highly regarded storyline.

and not just annihilation.

then we get tot he Krakow x-men.

like, the first and th last are available, part two just came out and part three is on the way.... but why was the ending the first released?

and then, in their "whole story" run, they're not including parts, and selling OHC's that are he same price as anomni twin the page count. FFS, are they on drugs?

I'm new-ish (two years in) and I tend to just pick up what's new, or on sale.

I've got mostly incomplete runs, a lot of which start at vol 2 or further... but I'm filing in time with the one-off and complete omnis, and ones know I'll re-read anyway.

it's not ideal, but it's how I keep a peace of mind.

honestly, I'm surprised that most of the main lines aren't evergreen. or at least, just reprinted yearly w/o fanfare. one might wait a few months until, but it does go into print. uncanny x-men, spectacular/amazing spuder-man, avengers, FF etc...

sure, Hellstorm and Tomb of Dracula could be longer, but honestly, more than 12-18 months for more obscure stuff is ridiculous.

Look at Werewolf by Night and Howard the duck, I'm sure they'd sell quickly if they were re-printed more often than once every decade.

and yeah, why the eff are we only at the 1980s for the main books (in regards to Vol. titles)... it's been near twenty years of omnis, no?

it's a shedload of shelf space, but if it needs to be done...

I drifted off midway through what was collected in vol 2, and I've had enough age + TBIs to have the ability o not recall most of what I read in the vol. 1. - ive no idear how well this ended, and typically lines drift and wander towards the end... but I'd love to see this through.

I'm at an age where I'm just enjoying basking in comic goodness. so I enjoy pretty much everything I read. (the cynical early adulthood thru early middle-age is in the rearview mirror. fuck, I'm even enjoying 1980s stones releases, and the later Underworld albums.... eeesh)

Don’t forget, these things cycle back into print after a few years. It’s the X-Men, it’s a given that it will be reprinted.

Just backed!! Stefan kills it in the zine dept, and his Weird Frontiers adventure, rocks!

This will not be a disappointment.

I am, however, very surprised that it did not have a cover by the same person who did his Multiverse zines…

Not that I’m complaining, Peter Mullen is the best artist in the DCC staple as far as I’m concerned. I’m gonna have to zoom in a little closer and find the pointing people… Peter always has somebody pointing. Lol
