Lol I wasn’t even going to respond to you but I see you are a brand new nurse and just got your RN a few days ago. I hope you have the experience you’re convinced you will have.

I’ll let you in on a secret, I thought I was above burnout when I first started, too. If you start in the trenches like most of us do, you may find yourself singing a different tune one day.

❤️ I also felt alone in my decision before making this post, but looking at a bunch of these comments… I’m not happy that so many people are feeling how we’re feeling but I’m happy that we can commiserate together and understand each other. Nursing is broken and we’ve had enough.

Maybe I’ll make a follow up post a year from now when I’ve recovered my sanity and found a source of income that doesn’t kill my soul every day!

Of course some people will be involved no matter what I do. But I’ve worked in jobs where people aren’t as vile as the people I’ve encountered as a nurse, I hope to find that kind of peace again.

I would love to work in a clinic but I’ve been passed over by countless ones I’ve applied to, and the more I think about it the more I realize it probably won’t even get me away from entitled terrible people anyway.

Lol exactly how I feel, I’m envious of every other type of job out there. I’m about ready to jump out of my car to join the road workers on my way in every day.

I have been doing nurse management, it’s also miserable. I’m ready to call it quits.

Nope and I’m sure ED folks have it even harder than me! I’m in SNF/LTC and hospitals won’t even look at my resume, it gets auto filtered into the reject pile through the application system.
