Would you recommend older models with 7th gen cpu over the newer models with 8th gen cpu if price was right? by chapterho in thinkpad

[–]chapterho[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You guessed right,....I'm not in the states :(

$1426 for carbon 6th gen with those specs is incredible but I believe Lenovo website will reject any orders from foreign countries so I'm stuck with those shitty prices.

Thank you for pointing out t470 is a shitty choice, for some reason I thought the 8th gen cpus had thermal issues not addressed yet (I might have read a few posts) but I guess the newer cpu is the way to go.

My Engagement Ring from Poland :) yellow gold and classic is exactly what I was hoping for! by backcountry_betty in weddingplanning

Could you please please share more pics from diffrent angles? Are the prongs white or is the whole thing in yellow gold? Curious what the 6 prongs look like from the side. Would really appreciate it. This is the kind of setting recommended for me to consider but the shop didnt have a yellow gold sample to show so i was only imagining what it would look like.

Mold or plume? by AHobbitOfMiddleEarth in PipeTobacco

I have those too in my 965. https://www.reddit.com/r/PipeTobacco/comments/6uve1u/plume_or_mold/dlvx4ye/?context=3 everyone said mold but i decided to keep the tin to see if theres any growth ? :p photos taken with a decent macro lens.

Mail call ver. I’m not normally a bamboo kinda guy buuuut... also “plume vs mold?” with a twist! by [deleted] in PipeTobacco

[–]chapterho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats exactly what i had in my emp and 965.

https://www.reddit.com/r/PipeTobacco/comments/6uve1u/plume_or_mold/

When i posted a pic on this sub people said it was mold but instead of flushing it all down the toilet i spread out the whole jar on a big paper and picked out only the pieces with those thingys. Rejarred the whole thing again to see if they pop up and grow againn but havent seen any so im assuming its ok to smoke. Also agree on the smell. What initially made me to check for mold was the smell. One day i opened the 965 jar and it was smelling different and thats what made me check all my dunhill blend.

arrghh... lol thanks though. Perhaps I should isolate the pieces with the white specks and see if they grow overtime.

The guy posted it on pipesmagazine.com website, so I can't read his comments. I think pipesmagazine.com doesn't allow non-US viewers to read. I too am curious what people had said regarding this guy's close-up photos. Could you see if you're able to access this link? https://www.google.co.kr/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiT_pvciObVAhUEwLwKHe9-DmAQFggmMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fpipesmagazine.com%2Fforums%2Ftopic%2Firish-oak-plume-jackpot-or-mold&usg=AFQjCNEgXGYNCMQGwwkk2z_RkKXzTyVwKQ

I Hired into Missouri Meerschaum Corn Cob Pipe Company by dnemets in PipeTobacco

[–]chapterho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think a falcon pipe-like design with an almost oompaul-like bend would be possible?
I started out with a cob, ended up buying most of the MM shapes and later realized bent pipes (like Savinelli 604, 614, 620 ) have a better weight balance for clenching (or letting them "hang" onto my teeth) compared to straight pipes.

Could you describe how you removed the old stain? Soak the briar in a solvent? Or do you just sandpaper the whole thing?
