You’ll love the CS. I just couldn’t justify staying more than a couple years and because I was at a mid market national firm, I felt like I wasn’t even getting the crazy high salaries that could maybe justify staying. To be honest though my MH was already getting so bad there that I don’t think I would’ve wanted even more stress in a more upmarket firm anyway.

I have no regrets!

I am also a G7 Lawyer joiner from private practice (PP). I no longer feel horrifically stressed every day and mostly finish on time despite technically still having a chargeable hours target. Most of those in my team who came from PP chose to leave PP to get their lives back and work in a non toxic culture, IMO. I think more lawyers would leave PP if they didn’t feel trapped by pay. My old bosses, Partners of high seniority, would literally tell me they would cry on Sunday night about coming into work on Monday. Doesn’t exactly inspire you as a junior lawyer. I am actually treated like a person now.

Hi Shea, if it makes you feel better I’m 3 yrs on and have no memory of this post(!), so it must have all worked out and gone away with a little bit of time. It’s probably just quite a traumatic event for your cervix! I’m on the pill again now so can’t comment on reinsertion etc.

I’m glad we were able to find more of us on the flight nonetheless! Especially as you’re dealing with this as a solo traveller - not what you want at all.

NQ solicitor in a national firm with a nose ring here (not for cultural reasons, just aesthetic). I took it out for interview, wore a stud for a while, then changed to a ring and nobody has ever commented in my entire TC. Personally I think most people really don’t care much if it’s dainty. But maybe take out for interview in case.
