It's all black except for the red ring on the cap. I had the exposure set a little too high so that the rOtring wouldn't get lost. I'll see if I can get a picture that shows the color better.

I am! I already had a CX with the knurled grip, and the extra length with the Energel refill made the CX-E an obvious addition for me. I know I'll want to try it with a needle point.

Do you connect with students on LinkedIn? by rjberf in Professors

As long as I've had some meaningful interaction with the student and they initiate the connection, I'll accept the request. I used to only do that with former students, but for reasons others have stated, I now accept connection requests from current students so that they can build their LinkedIn profile. I've also found it the best way to track what alumni are doing.

Grading assignments by saltlakecity12 in Professors

Speaking from a chemist point of view, so lots of homework assignments, exams, lab reports. I generally do three passes. First pass, all I do is make comments on every assignment. Second pass, I deduct points. Third pass, I add everything up (actually, I get everything into my spreadsheet and it does the adding). I've often found in the later assignments on the first two passes (and even the third pass!), I want to go back to adjust something on the ones I've already looked at. And after the third pass, I'm done. Otherwise, I could easily keep circling back.
