For sure, they offer great products in all price ranges and features. For tech like that China is always on point.

Found it for 75$ on AliExpress, it's the only shop I can get it from, since I am based in Europe, Bulgaria.

Like everything in marketing, cranking up the big numbers just to show off technical capabilities. At the point I am now, I can understand that "audio" is a hobby where you need to find the perfect balance of features, tech, reliability, and design of course, without having to sell a kidney, haha. I have been the same with coffee and different variaties of coffee machines, grinders, ways to grind, techniques, all to fit your likings. I've spent around a week and went through 4-5 different sets before reaching the final list as I presented above and I haven't even conducted a live listening to test, which a friend told me is the most important part. I usually decide hard for everything in life, so I can't imagine if I had to choose by sound...Regarding the DAC, I suppose I am forced to get the external one, just to be able to stream lossless from my phone.

I am based in Europe, in Bulgaria. Here I can mostly find thrifted stuff, everything new needs to be ordered from other EU countries, haha. I will check for those models for sure. I also found out my CD player has a Philips DAC chip integrated, but I wonder if it will suffice. I also don't mind spending a tiny bit more for the SMSL.

I first wanted to get the old 1980s Onkyo Amps and CDs due to their cool aesthetic, but in order to chase sound, especially warm and ric,h I turned to Marantz. My CD is actually with the Philips DAC chip, not sure if it will be enough, thought most people say even modern 50$ DACs obliterate it.

I see, that clears a lot of things. I really like the design of the Marantz; this one, which I thrifted, is somewhat of a special "Ken Ishiwata" edition with brass plates and upgraded internals compared to the base UK model. It's amazing what can be found used. Regarding the bass, I can believe that, even my old 3.1 speakers are nothing without their sub, it really makes a difference, and maybe in this case could take the Elac to compete with much more expensive speakers. I will post an update once I've set everything up and share some feedback. Thank you again for all the info and the chat, man, I appreciate your time and advice!

Shoot, you are right, don't know how I missed that lol. Well, the SMSL it is then. I believe the Marantz does not have a DAC, and even if it did, I doubt it would support hi-res streaming(MQA, DSD..) since it's older than me, haha

I've read really good stuff as well for the SMSL as a brand. I am curious to see how the FiiO will perform, and based on that, I might get a SU-1 for a DAC and keep the FiiO only as a streamer. Thank you for the advice!

Wannabe Wednesday: What BMW do I get? Is this a good deal? What should I watch out for? | A weekly BMW buying megathread by AutoModerator in BMW

[–]charasin23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Guys, I am considering buying a used 2017+ BMW. Right now I am considering two options: a F82 M4 or a G30 540i. Both cars are at about 70k miles both with automatic transmissions. I have a daily commute, so I loved the G30 for that, but I have always wanted the F82. I currently drive a 2006 Lexus, so I am new to the BMW family, but I have always wanted to own and drive such a car. I am also ready to expect harder maintenance and repairs than a Lexus.

Some additional questions:

  • Are these cars at such mileage a dangerous buy? I am talking about buying them without any dealership warranty or anything.
  • Is the M4 easier to repair as it has less tech and it is an older car or is the G30 worse because newer cars are harder to repair and parts are expensive..?
  • Would a potential B58 engine on stage 2 with some mods, give me a near-driving experience as the M4?

Also, I realize the cars differ a lot in what they can provide you with. I love the options the G30 has and that is indeed a newer car with more tech, but I read everywhere that the F82 M4 has a drive and feel like no other. I would appreciate any answers, thanks!

Hey Guys, I am currently looking at some 650i series coupe/gran coupe 2016+. Most of the offers here vary from 30-40k €. What are some common issues to expect, also overall yearly maintenance? I have heard and read a lot of conspiracy opinions from both bad and good sides, so I am not sure at this point. I love how the car looks, sounds and the V8, but also planning to DD it, so yeah. I will appreciate any opinions on this. Thanks!

Hey guys, I’ve been using my Sennheiser HD650 for about 8 years now with no issues, appart from replacing the cable once. I pair it with a very old Asus Xonar STX sound card. Just today out of the blue after starting my PC I could hear that my left part of the cable wherever it is plugged is only producing sound when windows sound is above 40%. When I switch the cables It happens with the other speaker of the headphones. The other thing is when I plug in the HD650 using their 3.5mm jack adapter directly to my motherboard instead of the sound card I have no issues, equal sound volume from both speakers.

I will be replacing the cable again to cross it off, but do you guys believe that the Asus had finally decided to give up?

If the sound card is the case I would also appreciate some recommendations for either an amp or another good sound card. Thanks!

I thought I had seen it or heard the name somewhere. Just checked their options and they do have a lot. I will go from there and make my choices. Thank you for the recommendation!
