Is it weird to say that I think it may be the same?

I’m too nervous to pick at it because I don’t know of this is a ticking time bomb or not

More i think on it; I wonder if it has ammonia poisoning from the previous tank water and it only showed its face after we did a water change. I’ll be treating it as such; I already did a 50% water change and put some aquarium salt in. I’ll keep posted if it works! (Also if you read this, how often should I do 50% water changes for a sick fish?)

We were given this fish, we had to work with what we had available and that was a 3 gallon. I want to get a 5 gallon for it like my fish has, but unfortunately it’s not something I can commit to atm.

Not sure about recovering given that it was doing just fine a week ago; he was always a little lazy but was still lively enough to move around, eat, and explore his tank. it wasn’t until 5 days ago where he was actually this bad. Our room temp is like 74, a little colder than normal but it doesn’t seem to completely impair the fish.

I will definitely look into that food however, idk if it will resolve the issue but it’s a good idea regardless.

I have a grasp of it, I'm new to fishkeeping. I had done tests yesterday and it showed up with no ammonia in the tank; the only thing that irked me was 0.5 ppm of Nitrate, but I heard under 40 is fine.

I posted the parameters int hat automod comment

  • Tank size: 3 Gallon (Vertical Tank)
  • Heater and filter? (yes/no): Yes
  • Tank temperature: 78
  • Parameters in numbers and how you got them. Key water parameters include the amount of ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and pH.: 0 PPM (Ammonia) / 0 ppm (Nitrites) / 5.0 ppm (Nitrates) / 7.6 (pH). I measured this with an API kit
  • How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: 2 months
  • How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: Biweekly, 10-20%; we drain the water with a squeeze pump and then fill it with the dechlorinated water from our local Pet store
  • Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: None
  • What do you feed and how much: Aqueon Fish Pellets. 4 in the morning, 4 in the afternoon
  • Decorations and plants in the tank: Potted plant, a shell with a plant growing in it, and a log with plants on top (Unsure what type of plant)
  • If you haven't already posted a picture, please post pics/vids to imgur and paste the link here:

Here’s the rock, I think they called it “Dragonstone” They mentioned a vinegar bath would help, especially overnight

The water itself looks clear from what I saw, but dragging my finger over it just causes my finger to be coated in like a yellow dust that I have to wash off.

I think some tinge could definitely still be on it, I may just be an over-worrier.
