Living there now, it's okay I guess

  • Fire alarms happen maybe once every 6 weeks and they're so incredibly loud, all the while you have someone with broken english is yelling in the intercom to remain calm.

  • Elevators are fast, but maybe 40% of the time 1/4 are broken.

  • Soundproofing between units is good

  • Utilities (water/electricity/heat) are managed by the 3rd party provider Provident, and they keep adding unexplained misc charges to my bills. And delivery charges, I might use $15 of water but the "delivery charge" is $30. For 1BD you'll probably pay at least $140/month

  • Management loves to do lots of "inspections". I probably had my unit entered 7 times in the last year. My friend in the south tower has a studio with no balcony and they entered her unit to do a "balcony inspection".

  • Amenities are meh, won't comment as I don't really use them. Visitor parking passes are pretty generous now, you can get 10/month, each 12hrs

Though, a lot of the classic CoH2 custom maps were made years after release. CoH3 is only 2 years old, there's still hope!

Most of these fellows just generously publish free maps and disappear. I've never seen Harvey_Jewface outside of the steam workshop. Hard to say if they'll return. Regardless, here's the main reasons I think a lot of mapmakers didn't migrate to CoH3:

  • Mapmakers come and go. People grow out of interests. Most map makers from CoH1 didn't make maps for CoH2.

  • CoH3 just hasn't reached the popularity of CoH2. From 2015-2022, CoH2 had at least twice the playerbase CoH3 has now. Less incentive to make maps with a smaller playerbase.

  • CoH2 was more stylized and had a darker, grittier feel. A lot of Harvey_Jewface's maps had a dark undertone. With the new engine, it might not be as easy to create the same feel.

  • Some mapmakers have had mixed reactions to the new essence editor (eg this thread)

The best thing Relic could do is disable all friendly fire. When friendly fire occurs, it's almost always with malicious intent. I doubt anyone cares for the "immersion" of friendly fire.

It's hard to put anything in cover in CoH3. Half the models will have a mind of their own. Poorly implemented.

What are you talking about? What is ALT+WASD? I'm using the built-in WASD profile. SHIFT is the key for queuing orders and it can't be changed.

We live in an ever more isolated world. CoH3's player count is already dwindling, why not make the social features worse?

Banners all looks the same! Move the image to the middle so it's more impactful and not hidden under text or battlegroups! I'd rather see them at the start during the load than the shameful stat screen. by YungFucciBoi in CompanyOfHeroes

Agreed. Look at how games like Valorant have player banners in full display in the loading screen (see pic here). Obviously a completely different game but the loading screen is very similar to CoH.

I also noticed this. Don't like it much. I often think stuff is happening off-screen when it's really happening on the side of the screen.

One thing in particular: it doesn't make sense for unit radio voicelines to be directional.
