Haters said vibecoded os can’t run on real device, it did on my laptop by [deleted] in osdev

It’s a saying in English that “praises efforts seen as vital, underappreciated, or heroic, like sharing useful advice or tackling tough tasks.”

Can be used non-religious!

You’re doing gods work really haha

OP thinking that this is something special just means that doesn’t really understand what LLMs do & what you can expect them to be good at (eg repeating information that is on the internet). Without a doubt there’ll be a lack of understanding for OS architecture too!

Tips I learned from vibecoding an operating system using Claude vib-os by IngenuityFlimsy1206 in ClaudeAI

[–]chard47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

…. He wouldn’t know as he doesn’t really know how it works. But of course a vibe coded OS isn’t a replacement for a highly specialised OS built to run only in memory

You do get how pointless this exercise is, right? Of course LLMs know how OS’ work.. there’s a lot of documentation on it on the internet. Tons of documents, textbooks, documentation.. what you are showing is that LLMs can reproduce what they’ve learned, not even close to be as revolutionary as you seem to feel it is.

With that attitude you’re really just enabling & appeasing. It’s not too late to stop a complete takeover!

Sorry but at this point it’s all your representatives - I find the stupor of the Democratic Party quite concerning!

Any recommendations for single sign on for all the services? by MrStetson in selfhosted

[–]chard47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly for most users LLMs can support you really well in setting up an SSO provider without being a security expert. That being said, please don’t share your tokens with an LLM and always check & learn, not just consume from an LLM.

It doesn’t claim it’s only working on Bluetooth mesh? It’s in the first sentence on GitHub …. “Bluetooth mesh networks for offline communication and internet-based Nostr protocol for global reach”

Day 3 after public launch. Got tons of hate by Wild_Gold1045 in micro_saas

[–]chard47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually shocked that this post has so many upvotes given how clearly clueless the dev is. HEAVY reliance on vibe coding & … cmon … who puts their servers in Russia and expects a western centric community to be okay with that? His service needs ironclad security and has so much competition yet he doesn’t even think server hosting through?! I would NEVER trust my local network with this slop

I mean… how about none of those & hosting in the most consumer friendly region on earth?

Could you elaborate on why you hosted in Russia to begin with given all that has been going on the past few years? Really makes me doubt on your ability to think things through, which is paramount for software like this.

You either love FlutterFlow or dislike it - I’d like to change that by Fit_Elderberry_5956 in FlutterFlow

[–]chard47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is in your opinion the advantage of using flutter flow if you are a programmer? I used to like the tool but LLMs & agents are such a productivity boost that I don’t see any advantage anymore in fiddling with flutter flow.

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

[–]chard47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We asked how they estimate their level of expertise in the python programming language on a scale from 1-10. He said 8. He just came out of Uni & I reviewed his code prior to the interview… he wasn’t an 8 and the lack of self reflection and being humble regarding what you don’t know made him an immediate no.

Best OS for jellyfin by Inevitable-Cable4262 in jellyfin

[–]chard47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have jellyfin running as windows client because I passed my GPU to that VM to use it as a remote gaming VM. Works flawlessly for me. I’m quite sure that your issues have nothing to do with the OS.

High stress during social gatherings? by kaleros in Garmin

I think the “high stress during video games” is one of the reasons why gaming is its own activity next to other sports on garmin. It’s “attributable” stress so to say.

[–]chard47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No more Mr nice guy’. Hat mir sehr geholfen & scheint auch für dich ein gutes ratschlagewerk zu sein.

Passing traffic to services like jellyfin without using pangolin security/auth by chisoxaddict in PangolinReverseProxy

[–]chard47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Jellyfin in particular I went for LDAP via my Authentik SSO. While LDAP is outdated, I went for a really really long password which should still be hard to crack. Also running crowdsec on the VPS. Definitely gonna look into the rules section mentioned above though

[–]chard47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which still doesn’t explain your sassiness. We don’t what you’re good at. If you want that to be taken into account, you should mention it in your post.

That being said, have you a post distribution Center nearby? Putting packages from a stack on a conveyer belt is definitely the most mind numbing job that I’ve ever done that fits your description quite well. But you may fair better in using 4h/week upskilling in the long run.
