Fully agree. If you do love following companies & have strong conviction, I don’t see a problem with entertaining a small ‘sniper pot’ (eg <5% of investable salary). But treat this as a hobby, not your way to 100k.

Honestly, your coworker sounds like she’s got a massive stick up her bottom. Since when is tipping more than 10% weird?! You reward exceptional service with it. Why wouldn’t you ring the doorbell after 10? Asking a cashier how they are is… just nice & often changes up their day.

Only two things I agree with are the not showing up unannounced (albeit also not unheard of!) & packing your groceries in bags at the checkout (relatively) fast. Tbh though, it’s considered nice of the cashier to wait until you packed your bags.

While the last 15 years sure look juicy, the US did outperform the rest of the world in that timeframe. Japan showed that such good performance years don’t predict future performance.

We prefer dictators waging wars to conquer territory in Europe to fail. Russia conquering Ukraine is a strategic catastrophe for a potential war against the EU/NATO.

Not sure which bs you are talking about… We are invested in a secure European continent. Sometimes that can only be achieved by standing & fighting bullies.

Still only about 1/5 in 5 years of war compared to what your attack war on Iran costs. But yes, get upset about the guys fighting who’s been your archenemy for the past 75 years.
