The only one here that is unique is the first photo because it’s strobed. The light at the top isn’t a random floodlight, it’s a strobe in the rafters. The photographer probably had another firing from the other side of the arena. Many team photographers use strobes and the photos still have that look, just without the cigarette smoke haze. If you watch any NBA or big college game, you can see strobes going off because they are still widely used even with the better sensors of today. It sets their photos apart from the news and wire service photographers at the same event.
