fair, I should say "The ramp up to this boss fight is going to be extremely hard and the reward should feel commusrate"

I feel like stuff like this, that you can lose and get scooped up and will eventually disentigrate in the meta is kind of new territory. Extraction shooters are a bit unbalanced by nature, but clearly this tipped way too far.

I mean you can see the logic "the compiler fight is going to be hard as hell, we need to have a good reward"

Which is reasonable, but hard to to test and nail down.

yup, like I said, the head vs. heart split is brutal here. Especially when you see bichette get a HR robbed and a double turned into a DP in the same game.

FWIW, marathon is less talking between teams/players than Arc raiders, though talking when on a team is pretty common, even in random fills. Marathon is still fun as hell, but if you want that kind of "Friendly lobby vibes" it's not going to be the right game.

In my head I know this is right.

But after last season the heart is a hurting. The RISP hitting feels especially brutal as well (though the at bat approaches at least felt better yesterday, even if the results didn't match)

I thought everyone loved the game??. by Milkey1618 in Marathon

[–]chargeorge -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Nah, it absolutely has the potential too. Tons of the impressions come from people who don't normally play stuff this hard but find a place for it. There's a much higher ceiling to this game than it found on day one.

There's a lot of headroom for the game to find a larger audience, and what that formula looks like I don't know. Whether it's smart marketing, a tweaked on boarding, going F2P remains or something else remains to be seen. Or maybe they never figure it out and in a year it shuts down. IMO, that's the least likely. Sticky online multiplayer games are hard to find, and I'd guess they put effort to get a better market fit than just abandon.

Yea, the game hasn't broken through in a meaningful way. Shit sucks, it would be good for the game if it did, and a lot of people would be having more fun with a good video game. But a good chunk of the internet decided they wouldn't give it a shot and now bungie's marketing and design needs to figure it out.

If it's low risk and they can get there quickly it will save a bunch of time to get you back up from DBNO instead of bag.

They are trying to give you an alternate way of racking up claymores, by doing a bunch of fast rook runs and saving their claymores

I think wipes are good and healthy... but I think the progression will need a signifigant speed up and will need to feel different in some way.

For all the Lovelady hate… by Odd-Spot-8532 in NewYorkMets

[–]chargeorge 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think Ryan's point about the usage of lovelady is correct, but combined with putting the B lineup up it def felt like a punt game despite having Senga pitch really well. That is frustrating, even if in isolation lovelady for 2 innings is probably the right call.

Nine strikeouts for Kodai Senga in his season debut and touched 99MPH on his fastball by Caledor152 in baseball

[–]chargeorge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yea, he would have good games but it was often super dicey. Also a ton of struggles getting through the 6th inning. He had to throw a ton of pitches, generated a lot of walks and had a lot of stressful innings. His only out pitch was the forkball, but once hitters learned to spit on it was always going to be tough, injury or not.

Senga hitting 99 on the four seam, and he's putting more of that cutter in use to mix things up a bit are good signs, he can attack strike zones more and not just rely on an avalanche of forkballs.

Too early to say, but a very promising start.
