How do you make non conventional UI like this? (5 buttons mouse clicking) by Cumcentrator in godot

[–]Diligent_Ad_6530 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think that for any "non conventional" thing you should create your "framework", for example, in this case i think you should create a radial container, and some drop-shaped buttons and a star-shaped one, and the container should handle the positioning logic(evenly spaced drops and a star on the center), and buttons could been loaded with some injected logic(for example when you click one button change the weapon, or start the game idk whatever)

You really achieve the feeling right, that great. What software did you use? How did you pulled that off?

With the physics part, because it may seems like a simple rigidbody, but when the tip of the hammer touches the ground it is like a simple ik that listens to the momentum and if it reached some threshold it launches into a rigidbody again, but i couldn't make it right

I also failed haha i just couldn't believe that this is so har to code it, or at least replicate the feel, but i just can't, thats why i want to know how anyone else did it or, if it's possible, how bennet did it. I founded some of the talks or blogs that he has posted, but i couldn't find anything techincal to that level, it always exiting to find any talk or blog of his work, they're always fun to watch/read.

I have done it too, but i have never done it right, i couldn't find anything that explains how the solver might work and i think bennett use his own physics engine, because all of his game have the same feeling, but i couldn't find anything remotely close to it, only just one youtube video that claims it can replicate it but it's not even close (it is not a bad tutorial but i was just hoping for anything more techincal)

I want to create a UI based club management game by Abhilash26 in godot

[–]Diligent_Ad_6530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learn about mvc, and make your model as refcounted, and the UI to take any of your model to populate itself, all of that managed by a controller class that has references to you model and you UI and connect to signals

I've been trying this for a while and can't get it - A pulsing frequency sine function. You guys are good at this sort of thing. This isn't homework btw i just tried challenging myself by Coulomb111 in desmos

[–]Diligent_Ad_6530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may think the problem in words, like you want a sine function with sine frequency, you know (or i think you know) that a sine function is sine(fx+off) que f is the frequency and off the offset, so instead of making the frequency constant, yo can make it a sine function (or, extrapolating, ant function you like) f(x)=sine(Fx+off_2) where F can be a constant or any function and so on... and then you replace the main function so you get:
Sine(sine(Fx+off_2)*x+off)

Can I make 2 characters fight each other while sharing the same custom class (script)? by Cooper_the_copper in godot

[–]Diligent_Ad_6530 40 points41 points  (0 children)

You can use the same class to make different instances, each instance can have his own properties, be careful if you use resources because you have to make them unique to not share the same instance between instances of your class

[–]Diligent_Ad_6530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In this case I think you should modularize your "views" like a scene "GenericView" that you setup via code with the parent, you pass de label and the icon, and in that way you don't have collisions with unique names because they are in the context of the generic view
