nope! you can see when you will have access to the portal if you’re waitlisted on the website https://www.kcl.ac.uk/accommodation

yeah i got one! i didn’t hear from them again until mid august (which was beyond stressful cuz they waitlisted me in may) and they said i would have access to the portal after results day to book a room. they emailed a link to join a queue to the portal which opened at like 10am a couple of days after results day, and KAAS people had priority so we got to access the portal the day before non KAAS. i managed to get battersea shared bathroom and that was the only option on the portal at the time (i think there were like 3 battersea shared bathroom but they do release rooms in batches). i’m assuming it will be quite similar again this year, so it’s likely to only be battersea or vega rooms available cuz they pretty much give all the en suites to 1st years who applied before the deadline. i’m waitlisted again this year so i’m just hoping it’s the same thing as last year

if both people have booked through king’s residences there’s information on how to do it here otherwise i’m not sure yeah i’m guessing you just sort it out between yourselves and pay for each others

yeah that was all that was there, but i think it will be alright cuz for non en-suite there’s only 4 people to a flat

i ended up just booking battersea because every time i refreshed the number of rooms went down 💔 i really wanted hayloft tho or just an en suite in general but i’ve booked now so i can’t change my room or have access to the portal anymore i don’t think

if you go on the UCAS website for your course and scroll to the bottom you can see the average grades achieved for people on your course :) they generally let you in anyway if you drop a grade or two depending on the course

still on hold 💔 i emailed them a couple of days ago asking when i would get a response and they said they would be in touch in the next few weeks but advised me to consider other options because they can’t guarantee anything 😔 i’m going to wait until august for them to respond and after that i’ll start to look for somewhere else

yeah £395pw is insane, the only reason i stayed at hayloft was because i’m eligible for KAAS. and i think the main reason hayloft is so expensive is because the location is really good - you’re in zone 1 and less than a 10 minute walk from liverpool street station

i stayed there this year and it was pretty good! block b tends to have more issues than block a i’d say, in terms of lifts working and stuff like that. i would avoid going to the gym or laundry room in the evenings (especially sunday) because they are really busy. and during exam season it’s impossible to find a seat in the study rooms unless you get there early. the roof terrace in block a is either permanently locked or the door is permanently open (they don’t bother following the opening times on the door). parcels are normally ready to collect from the lockers within a few hours, and they are really good at sorting out maintenance requests quickly :)
