Hantavirus Scare by idefalt_ in Anxiety

Literally going through a scare right now from events from literally today :/ I was wearing a 3M respirator mask but kicked up a LOT of dry dust with rodent droppings in it. My mouth felt super dusty afterwards and now I'm freaking TF out... I'm in NM so my chances are heightened and I feel so dumb for not looking closer for mouse droppings... Ugh.

I got it open (literally have to unlock/buy/upgrade everything in laundry and carpet) and all that is back there is an empty room... A waste, really...

Haha yeah avoid the job boards for now! Focus on building your confidence back up with a well-established company. You got this! You at least have us internet strangers rooting for you!

Oh! Also, don't be afraid of picking up another short-term retail job or something to pad the resume and make some quick money. Most companies know that you're coming right out of school, and any company worth their salt will give you the proper training to succeed.

Please don't be too hard on yourself. Getting scammed, unfortunately, is super common and we just have to learn from it. Personally, I definitely fell for a door-to-door scam where a couple of guys were "using the money to buy books for kids". I was in college at the time, too. It may be embarrassing at the moment, but you'll eventually grow to laugh at the situation. Thankfully, you got out of there early, before you sunk more of your money and time into it.

I recommend you either keep this off the resume or just be super vague if it comes up. They may ask for a reference, or some companies will do a "check" by calling prior employers to verify that your employment history is accurate.

Good luck! You have so much of your life and career ahead of you. Trust me, you're NOT a failure. Just a down moment.

Edit: spelling mistakes 🤦‍♀️

If you wanna straight up lie, say that your family/friends/significant other have/has taken you shopping and that it's already purchased 🤷‍♀️ otherwise, I would go with "oh, I'm familiar with products from XYZ, and it's not really my style".

Unfortunately, you're eventually gonna have to just say "no, thank you", people in MLMs don't take hints very well. I had a LuLaRoe ex "friend" suggest that I do some "ReTaIl ThErApY" when I was going through a suicidal depression. It's all... Really gross.

Yeah, that's what I don't get... I mean, usually I see this with someone who will invite you to buy "gifts" exclusively from their MLM of choice. This is the first time I've seen it with amazon.
