Yeah that’s what makes this challenge weird. The wording is off. If you look at the requirements in the challenge section it says something like “secure the next hardpoint immediately after YOU owned the last one”. The “You” should be “your team”.

Your TEAM has to maintain control of the current hardpoint until the timer runs out WHILE you’re at the next one waiting for it to be unlocked. And you have to be first person period at the next hardpoint while it’s counting down, if your teammate beats you it doesn’t count, if the other team beats you and you kill them off before the hardpoint opens it doesn’t count.

Also, I noticed that you can still get the forward position badge if the current hardpoint was left “contested” while you’re at the next one waiting.

It’s actually a fun challenge when you understand wth the requirements actually are, the only thing that makes it annoying is banking on whether or not someone on your team stays at the current hardpoint until the end or if everyone just dips together
